On July 10, 2025, Circle officially announced the launch of its native USD Coin (USDC) and the new Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2 on the Sei mainnet. This move brings official digital dollar issuance support to Sei, while also integrating with Circle Mint to enable direct institutional-level capital inflows into the Sei ecosystem. As of July 24, native USDC and CCTP V2 are fully live on the Sei network. With this, Sei becomes the 13th blockchain to support CCTP V2, enabling USDC transfers across 13 public chains through 156 transfer routes—with no need for third-party bridges—offering 1:1 capital efficiency, high security, and low latency.

1. What is Sei?

Sei Network is a next-generation Layer-1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK, developed by the Sei Labs team starting in 2021 and officially launched in 2023. From its inception, Sei attracted strategic investments from top-tier institutions such as Jump Crypto, Multicoin Capital, and Coinbase Ventures, gaining strong momentum.
