Which Countries Are MEXC Prohibited Jurisdictions?
Under the MEXC User Agreement (last updated May 29, 2025), MEXC does not provide services in, and does not accept user registrations or trading applications from, the following countries and regions:
North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, Mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine (currently including Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Sevastopol), and Canada (collectively referred to as "Prohibited Jurisdictions").
The same clause also covers any country or territory subject to comprehensive economic or trade sanctions administered by the EU or the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and any country on the FATF list of high-risk jurisdictions subject to a call for action, which named North Korea, Iran and Myanmar in its June 2026 update.
For clarity, MEXC may update this list at any time based on legal and compliance considerations.

No, the United States is a Prohibited Jurisdiction, so US residents cannot open or use a MEXC account, whichever app store or website they reach it through.

Is MEXC leaving the Netherlands?
Yes, MEXC is winding down its service for users in the Netherlands, who are asked to move their assets by October 31, 2026, ahead of final offboarding on November 16, 2026, as reported by Finance Magnates.
MEXC had already suspended fiat services for Netherlands users from March 20, 2026, including P2P, bank transfers and third-party payment channels.
The Dutch regulator AFM decided on September 16, 2025 that MEXC was offering crypto-asset services in the Netherlands without the licence MiCA requires, and it published a consumer warning on September 24, 2025.
Dutch users should treat October 31 as the working deadline rather than waiting for November 16.

Is MEXC available in the EU and EEA?
The EU and EEA are not on the Prohibited Jurisdictions list, but MEXC holds no authorisation under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
MEXC appears in ESMA's interim MiCA register of non-compliant entities, following the AFM decision.
EU and EEA readers should use a crypto-asset service provider authorised under MiCA, which the same ESMA register lists.

What Happens If You Use MEXC From a Prohibited Jurisdiction?
Using MEXC from a Prohibited Jurisdiction breaches the User Agreement, and if MEXC determines that a user gave false information about their location or residence, Clause 1 of the agreement allows MEXC to terminate the account immediately and liquidate any open positions.
- Clause 4(v): every user represents that they are not resident in, located in, or trying to access MEXC from a prohibited country.
- Clause 1: false representations of location or residence can lead to immediate account termination and the liquidation of open positions.
- Clause 21: MEXC may freeze an account and the assets in it if it suspects a breach of the agreement.
- Clause 1: a user who becomes resident in a Prohibited Jurisdiction undertakes to tell MEXC at the earliest possible opportunity.
A VPN does not change any of this, because it changes your IP address, not your residence or your location.
What if you move to a Prohibited Jurisdiction?
Tell MEXC as soon as possible, as Clause 1 requires, and plan to withdraw your assets, because the agreement does not allow residents of those countries to keep using the service.
