Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2’s finale is almost here. Episode 8 will not only serve as a conclusion to the eight-episode season, which adapts Rick Riordan’s The Sea of Monsters, but it will also set up the show’s third season, which will focus on The Titan’s Curse.
Heading into the finale, Percy and his friends are on their way back to Camp Half-Blood after saving Annabeth. Clarisse is also en route to camp via Blackjack with the Golden Fleece, putting Luke and Kronos’ plans to overthrow Olympus on hold. A major battle is looming between Percy, the demigods and Kronos’ rebels.
“That scene and what we ended up doing with the visual effects, just what was happening in the scene, that’s where the series is going to go,” Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover, teased TV Insider about the upcoming battle. “That sets the tone for the rest of it.”
Dior Goodjohn, who plays Clarisse, added that in the upcoming finale, “the relationship building, the visual effects, [and] the intensity” of the battle scene is a whole new ballgame for the Disney+ show.

In the penultimate episode, “I Go Down With the Ship,” Luke brings an injured Annabeth back to the Princess Andromeda, where the rest of the rebels supporting the Titan Kronos are gathered. Through Annabeth’s flashbacks, viewers finally see the moment Zeus turns Thalia into the tree – the one that also serves as a protective barrier around camp. Percy and Clarisse, despite disagreeing over who should retrieve the fleece, both eventually make it onto the ship on their own terms.
With the Golden Fleece finally in his possession, Luke places it on top of Kronos’ coffin. Meanwhile, Percy finds Annabeth and cuts her loose. They’re interrupted by Luke, who walks into the room, prompting Percy to use the invisibility cap to stay hidden. Annabeth tells Luke about her vision of Thalia and explains that the fleece may be able to heal her as well. Allison arrives after spending time near Kronos’ coffin and reveals that Kronos told her to kill “the traitor” — Annabeth.
Percy manages to slip out and sneak into the room where Kronos is. After Kronos tries to recruit Percy to his cause, Percy refuses and instead pulls off the Golden Fleece. When Luke arrives, a sword fight breaks out between the two, while Clarisse steps in to help Annabeth take down Allison and the other rebels.
Percy, now carrying the Golden Fleece, runs toward the elevator, but Luke stabs him through the closing doors. Thankfully, Percy recovers by using the fleece to heal his wound. He reunites with Annabeth and Clarisse on the deck of the ship, just as Percy’s pegasus, Blackjack, appears. Percy sends Clarisse back to camp on Blackjack, while Grover and Tyson call Percy’s mom, Sally Jackson, to give them a ride.
