Google has today released Gemini 3 Flash, a ‘frontier intelligence built for speed’. The model, which is part of the Gemini 3 umbrella, is seamless for coding, complex analysis, and quick answers in interactive apps.
In a blog post on Wednesday, the company noted that Gemini 3 Flash was built to be ‘highly efficient’ with speed to deliver workloads without compromising quality. The latest model will replace Gemini 2.5 Flash, which was released six months ago.
“Gemini 3 Flash is made for iterative development, offering Gemini 3’s Pro-grade coding performance with low latency; it’s able to reason and solve tasks quickly in high-frequency workflows,” it said in the post.
On the benchmark, according to Google, the model outperforms its predecessor by a significant margin and matches the performance of other previous models, like Gemini 3 Pro and GPT 5.2, in certain measures.
For instance, it scored 33.7% without tool use on Humanity’s Last Exam benchmark, which is designed to test expertise across different domains. Compared to others, Gemini 3 Pro scored 37.5%, Gemini 2.5 Flash scored 11%, and the newly released OpenAI’s ChatGPT-5.2 scored 34.5%.
“Gemini 3 Flash raises the performance floor of your coding sessions with strong performance in reasoning, tool use, and multimodal capabilities,” Google said in the blog post.
Google added that the model better understands the intent of users’ prompts and can generate more visual answers with features like images and tables.
The global search engine company noted that starting from today, Gemini 3 Flash is now the default model in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search, replacing Gemini 2.5 Flash. With the integration, developers and everyday users can access the model via various Google platforms.
While Gemini 3 Flash is available to all users, there are restrictions, such as daily usage limits for users on free mode. However, all paid users have full access to both the latest model and Gemini 3 Flash.

Gemini 3 Flash comes a month after the company launched Gemini 3 models, described as state-of-the-art in reasoning and built to grasp depth with its creativity and problem-solving ability.
The company said Gemini 3 was designed to figure out the intent behind a user’s request in order to get what users need with less prompting.
The new introductions come amid increased competition from OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Zuckerberg’s Meta AI and China’s DeepSeek. However, Gemini has been significant, with 2 billion users every month, while the Gemini app also surpassed 650 million users per month, according to Google.
