Joseph Mazzara, a key aide to former Department of Homeland Security head Kristi Noem, was removed from his DHS position following an internal power struggle. The Daily Beast reported Mazzara "emptied his office," and was "walked out of the building," by employees.

Insiders attributed his removal to tension with current leadership, with one source stating "Mazzara was very much in the Noem camp, and Rodney Scott can't stand him."

A Customs and Border Patrol source suggested Scott capitalized on Noem's reassignment to a newly created cabinet position to fire Mazzara. Insiders described Mazzara as Corey Lewandowski's "henchman," responsible for removing over a dozen senior career leaders and replacing them with Trump loyalists.

The DHS officially denied Mazzara's removal, though an unnamed source countered the statement saying he would be fired if not already terminated. Lewandowski's fate remains uncertain.
