The father of a slain white teen used racial slurs against his son's killer in a podcast appearance as soon as a judge lifted a gag order in the murder case.

Jeff Metcalf, the father of Texas teenager Austin Metcalf, called 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony a "watermelon felon" after his conviction this week for murder and sentencing of 35 years in prison, reported The Grio.

"I couldn't speak about this in court, but I can speak freely now because the gag order is lifted," the elder Metcalf said on the JinxedSip Podcast.

He called out Anthony's parents by name and criticized their handling of their son's murder trial.

“Drew, you’re a p---y and a coward, and you raised one," Metcalf said. Kala, you drunk b---h. What’d you do to that boy to make him stab somebody? My God, what kind of mother are you?"

He taunted critics for playing what he called the race card and then made up a racist name for his son's killer, calling him the "watermelon felon."

Anthony' had claimed self defense in the April 2025 stabbing at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, following a heated exchange with the younger Metcalf, who was 17.

The case drew national attention in part due to a flood of social media posts inflaming the fact that Anthony is Black and Metcalf was white, although prosecutors and defense attorneys both argued the case had nothing to do with race.

Jeff Metcalf criticized individuals who were using his son's killing to stoke racial divisions and argued in court the case was not about race, but he claimed he had "Black fatigue" in the podcast interview and insisted that he was "not racist" against Black people but only “racist against a—holes."
