In a statement shared by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE revealed that within two years, 50% of its government sectors, services, and operations will run on “Agentic AI”. For context, this refers to autonomous systems capable of analyzing, making decisions, and executing tasks in real time.
According to the announcement, AI will no longer function as a support tool but as an “executive partner,” actively participating in decision-making and operational execution.
This means government processes from service delivery to internal workflows could rely on systems that adapt and improve without constant human input.
The rollout will follow a strict timeline, with performance measured by how quickly agencies adopt the technology, how well it is implemented, and how effectively AI is used to redesign public sector operations.
Leadership and Execution Framework
Oversight of the project will be handled by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Meanwhile, execution will be led by a dedicated task force chaired by Mohammad Al Gergawi.
The government also stressed workforce development. Specifically, it noted that all federal employees will undergo AI training to build what it describes as one of the world’s strongest AI-ready public sectors.

The announcement drew attention from the tech and crypto community. Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, responded by describing the move as “amazing,” adding that the UAE is becoming “unstoppable.”
