Nevada Organic Phosphate Inc. (CSE: NOP; OTCQB: NOPFF) has commenced drilling on the first hole of its 2026 exploration program at the Murdock Mountain Project, the company announced today. The initial deep drill hole, designated MM26-7, is designed as a 100-meter step-back from last fall’s MM25-1 to further evaluate the thickness, continuity and phosphate grade characteristics of the Meade Peak Upper Phosphatic Zone at depth.

The company reported that minor technical drilling issues were identified and are being addressed by contractor FTE Drilling, with operations expected to resume shortly and no material delays anticipated. The Murdock Mountain Project is located in northeast Nevada, where the company holds what it believes to be the only known large-scale organic sedimentary phosphate project in North America.

Nevada Organic Phosphate is a junior exploration company with an organic sedimentary raw rock phosphate bed measuring 6.6 kilometers long, with additional applications extending the potential strike of rock phosphate to over 30 kilometers. The project is situated close to the main highway to Montello/Elko, Nevada, and near the rail head to California, providing logistical advantages for potential future development.

The importance of this drilling program lies in its potential to confirm and expand the resource base at the Murdock Mountain Project. With the global demand for phosphate fertilizers remaining strong, particularly for organic and sustainable agriculture, any significant discovery could position the company as a key domestic supplier. The United States currently relies heavily on imported phosphate, much of which comes from Morocco and China, making a large-scale domestic source strategically important.

For investors, the results of the 2026 drilling program could provide critical data on the project’s economic viability. The step-back hole MM26-7 is intended to test the continuity of the phosphate zone at depth, which could significantly increase the resource estimate if successful. The company’s focus on organic sedimentary phosphate, which is less common than igneous phosphate deposits, may also appeal to the growing organic farming sector.

The announcement follows the company’s previous drilling in fall 2025, which provided initial data on the phosphate zone. The current program aims to build on that data and further de-risk the project. Additional information is available in the company’s newsroom at https://ibn.fm/NOP.

Nevada Organic Phosphate’s progress at Murdock Mountain is being closely watched by industry analysts, as the project could become a significant domestic source of phosphate for agricultural use. The company’s ability to execute its exploration plans without major delays will be key to maintaining investor confidence.
