Renowned Physicist Shares 8-Year and 20-Year Forecasts for Bitcoin Price Using the “Power Law”

Giovanni Santostasi, the physicist known in the Bitcoin world for his “Power Law” theory, was a guest on Natalie Brunell’s show.

Santostasi claimed that Bitcoin’s price chart actually has a mathematical trajectory so clear that “you can never ignore it,” and that this pattern will take Bitcoin to $1 million in 8 years and $10 million in 20 years.

Santostasi stated that the fundamental difference separating Bitcoin from traditional companies is its “growth pattern.” He explained that most companies grow exponentially, thus rapidly depleting resources and disappearing within approximately 150 years (less than 20 years for S&P 500 companies), while Bitcoin grows according to the “Power Law,” like cities.

“Cities are immortal; Rome has endured for thousands of years. Because cities are organic networks from the bottom up,” said Santostasi, arguing that Bitcoin, as a social network, exhibits a similar pattern of resilience and growth.

According to the physicist, Bitcoin’s price is not random, but rather proportional to approximately the 6th power of time (block generation age) (exactly 5.8). According to Santostasi’s model:

• Eight years from now: Bitcoin price will reach $1 million.
• 20 Years Later: The price will rise to $10 million.

Santostasi stated that he was 90% confident in the accuracy of this data.

Santostasi likened short-term fluctuations (wars, banking crises, stock market crashes) to “weather,” while the Law of Power is like “climate.” He stated that although the price may occasionally deviate below or above the pattern, it always returns to this main trajectory. Currently, he noted, Bitcoin’s 4-year moving average shows a 97% correlation with the Law of Power.

Santostasi explained that the increase in Bitcoin’s price is directly linked to “Metcalfe’s Law” (that the value of a network increases with the square of its number of users), adding that the relationship between the increase in the number of BTC addresses and the price is similar to the growth dynamics of the internet or Facebook.
