PANews reported on February 15th that Steak 'n Shake, the American fast-food chain, announced it will distribute Bitcoin bonuses to hourly employees at its company-owned stores. Starting March 1st, the bonuses will accumulate at $0.21 per hour worked, vesting for two years. Based on a 40-hour work week, employees could accumulate approximately $436.80 worth of Bitcoin annually. The final value depends on the market price of Bitcoin after two years.
The chain began accepting Bitcoin payments at select stores last year, with all Bitcoin sales revenue going into the company’s “strategic Bitcoin reserve.”
