MEXC is our top pick for GameFi tokens within this five-platform comparison.
The sector's defining risk in 2026 is not the trading fee, it is losing access to a token you already hold: 141 gaming tokens were delisted across centralised exchanges in the first half of the year.
MEXC carries the lowest standard spot taker fee in this group at 0.0500%, and it is currently the most active venue for at least one token the largest exchanges have dropped.

Key Takeaways
  • MEXC is our top pick for GameFi tokens in this five-platform comparison, at 0.0500% standard spot taker against 0.100% at all four of the others.
  • GameFi was the second most delisted token category of the first half of 2026, with 141 removals against just 15 new listings in the second quarter.
  • The whole Gaming category is worth about US$3.06 billion across 840 tokens, and not one of them ranks inside the overall top 150.
  • Aavegotchi (GHST) lost spot listings at two of the largest exchanges within four weeks in early 2026, and MEXC is now its most active trading venue.
  • At GameFi position sizes the fee gap between platforms is measured in cents, while the spread you cross on a thin order book appears on no fee schedule.
  • No exchange is permanent for a dying token, so the question is how many venues remain when it happens, not which venue never delists.

The problem is not that your exchange has not listed it yet

Most guides to buying gaming tokens are written as though the reader is standing outside a market trying to get in.
That was the 2021 problem.
In 2026 the more common experience is the opposite one: you already own a gaming token, and one morning an email tells you that trading stops in eleven days and withdrawals close two months after that.
Liquidity thins as market makers step back, and the clock is not negotiable.
That is the risk this article is built around, because it is the one the GameFi sector actually produces right now.

Why GameFi is not shaped like other crypto sectors right now

Short version: in GameFi, small-cap is not a corner of the sector, it is the whole sector.
The Gaming (GameFi) category on CoinGecko held about US$3.06 billion in total market capitalisation on 24 August 2026, spread across 840 listed tokens, with roughly US$509 million of daily volume.
The largest token in that category was FLOKI, at about US$210 million, which placed it 154th in the overall market.
Behind it came Axie Infinity at US$159 million, Decentraland at US$131 million and ApeCoin at US$127 million.
Around ten tokens in the entire category cleared US$100 million, and by the hundredth name on the list the market capitalisation had fallen to roughly US$2.75 million.
Most crypto sectors still have a large-cap tier that every major exchange carries.
GameFi has no such tier left.
The practical consequence: there is no version of trading this sector where you get to stay in names that every exchange is guaranteed to keep listed.

Where MEXC fits, and what it is worth in practice

The reader this article is written for holds gaming tokens that have already been through one delisting cycle, or trades small positions in names that never reached a large exchange in the first place.
For that reader the binding constraint is continuity of access, and the second constraint is per-trade cost, because GameFi positions tend to be small and traded often.
MEXC addresses the first constraint through the size of its spot listing book, which runs to 211 pages of trading pairs on its own fee page, and through a dedicated listing track for early-stage assets.
On cost, MEXC's published spot schedule is 0.0000% maker and 0.0000% to 0.0500% taker depending on the pair, with major pairs at 0.0500% and a further 20% reduction when fees are paid in MX.
What that is worth, using a real case.
Suppose you held US$500 of Aavegotchi (GHST) at the start of 2026, on the largest exchange by volume.
Spot trading stopped on 13 February, and your withdrawal window closed on 13 April, giving you 59 days to act before the exchange could convert what remained into stablecoins.
Say you moved the position to OKX, which still listed it.
On 12 March, four weeks later, OKX announced its own removal of GHST, with withdrawals closing on 12 June.
Two forced migrations inside four months, each one costing a withdrawal network fee, a deposit wait, and a round trip across the spread of a token whose entire global daily volume is now about US$145,000.
The trading fee saved by picking the cheapest schedule over those two moves would have been about one dollar.
The cost of picking a venue that did not keep the listing was two evacuations under deadline.
That is the trade this sector actually asks you to price.

How We Ranked the Best Crypto Exchanges for Gaming Tokens

Sector membership is a judgement call made by data providers, not a fact, and the providers disagree sharply.
On the same day, CoinGecko's Gaming (GameFi) category contained 840 tokens worth about US$3.06 billion, while Kraken's own GameFi category page listed 43 assets worth US$3.29 billion.
That is a twentyfold difference in token count for the same nominal sector, which is why we do not rank platforms by how many gaming tokens each one says it lists.
Those counts are not comparable across venues, and any article that stacks them in a bar chart is comparing definitions rather than coverage.
For listing status we used a single source, a single page type and a single snapshot date: the main CoinGecko coin page for each token, retrieved on 24 August 2026.
We excluded CoinGecko's per-currency sub-pages after finding that they still named a delisted venue as a token's most active exchange, and that they reported between 16 and 79 supporting exchanges for the same token on the same day.
Delisting events come only from each exchange's own published announcement, read directly, with the dates taken from the announcement rather than from press coverage.
That last rule matters more than it sounds: several widely syndicated reports of the March 2026 OKX delisting carried the year as 2025.

The delisting risk nobody prices in

Exchange delistings used to be a footnote.
Broken down by category for the first half of 2026, DeFi led with 207 removals, GameFi followed with 141, and meme tokens accounted for 98.
The two numbers only make sense together: exchanges removed 141 gaming tokens in the first half of 2026, and added just 15 in the second quarter.

What happened to Aavegotchi, in dates

Aavegotchi was one of the better-known NFT gaming projects of the previous cycle.
On 2 February 2026, Binance published a notice that spot trading in GHST and five other tokens would cease at 03:00 UTC on 13 February.
The same notice set 14 February as the point after which deposits would no longer be credited, 13 April as the end of withdrawal support, and 14 April as the date from which remaining balances could be converted to stablecoins on the holder's behalf.
On 12 March, OKX published its own notice covering GHST alongside RSS3, MEMEFI, RIO and SWEAT, suspending deposits the same day and setting 12 June as the withdrawal cut-off.
As of 24 August 2026, GHST had a market capitalisation of about US$2.28 million, ranked 2017th, with roughly US$145,000 of daily volume across all venues, trading 98.8% below its all-time high.
Its most active market that day was GHST/USDT on MEXC.
We are not presenting that as a triumph.
A token whose global daily turnover is US$145,000 is a difficult asset to hold and a worse one to exit in size, whichever venue carries it.
The point is narrower and more useful: when access disappears somewhere, it does not disappear everywhere at once, and which venue you are standing on when it happens decides how much of a scramble you face.

What to do when a token you hold gets delisted

Step 1. Read the notice for three dates, not one.
Trading stop, deposit stop and withdrawal cut-off are usually different days, and the withdrawal cut-off is the one that decides whether you keep the asset at all.
Step 2. Decide between selling into the announcement and moving the token.
Selling immediately accepts a worse price into thinning liquidity, while moving preserves the position but costs a network fee and requires a venue that still lists it.
Step 3. Check the destination before you send anything.
Confirm the receiving venue lists the exact token and supports the network you are sending on, and send a small test amount first if the sum matters to you.
Our step-by-step withdrawal guide covers the network-selection traps that cause most permanent losses during these moves.

The Cheapest Way to Buy Gaming Tokens at $200, $500 and $1,000

GameFi traders tend to run small positions and turn them over frequently, so the per-trade cost deserves attention.
It also deserves honesty about its size.
On a US$200 round trip taken at market on both sides, MEXC's 0.0500% taker fee costs US$0.20 in total, against US$0.40 on a platform charging 0.100%.
At US$500 the gap is US$0.50, and at US$1,000 it is US$1.00.
Over a hundred round trips a year at US$500 a time, that difference adds up to US$50, which is real money for a small account and is the strongest fee argument available here.
Now the part most comparison articles leave out.
On a token with US$145,000 of daily volume across every venue in the world, the spread you cross can easily exceed the fee you pay, and the spread appears on no fee schedule anywhere.
We have not measured spreads for this article, and we are not going to imply a number we did not collect.
What we will say is that fee tables are the easiest thing to compare and rarely the largest line in your cost, and that anyone choosing a GameFi venue purely on the headline rate is optimising the smaller variable.
Our fee comparison guide works through how the published schedules translate into real costs across trading styles.

The MEXC View: we delist too

We think an article like this loses its usefulness the moment it pretends our own book is permanent.
It is not.
Delisting volume is mechanically related to listing volume, and a platform that lists aggressively will remove more tokens than one that lists selectively, for the same reason a large library discards more books than a small one.
MEXC lists aggressively, so MEXC removes tokens, and any exchange telling you otherwise is describing a business that does not exist.
Our position is that the relevant question is not which venue never delists, because none qualifies.
It is how many venues remain when a token falls out of favour, and whether the platform you chose is likely to be among the last carrying it rather than the first to leave.
On that measure the GHST case above is the one piece of specific evidence we can point to, and we would rather show one verified case than claim a pattern we have not measured.
We would also rather you knew the second half of that argument: breadth of listing means you will encounter more thinly traded assets here than on a selective venue, and thin assets are harder to exit.
If that trade-off does not suit you, the next section says so plainly.

Platform by platform

MEXC

Strengths. The lowest standard spot taker fee in this comparison at 0.0500%, with 0.0000% maker; a large spot listing book that continues to carry gaming tokens after larger venues remove them; an on-chain route through DEX+ for assets that have left centralised books entirely.
Limitations. A broad listing policy means more low-liquidity assets and more eventual removals; MEXC is not available in every jurisdiction, and readers should check the user agreement for their own; the mobile app is not distributed in every national app store.

OKX

Strengths. The lowest standard spot maker fee in this group at 0.08%; a published proof-of-reserves programme using zk-STARK attestation; a regulated operating presence in several major jurisdictions that MEXC does not hold.
Limitations. Regional entities run different fee schedules, so the headline rate may not be the one you pay; it removed five spot tokens including GHST in March 2026.

Binance

Strengths. The deepest order books in the industry across major pairs, which matters most when you need to exit size; a large insurance fund; a 25% fee reduction when fees are paid in BNB.
Limitations. Its 0.10% standard spot rate is double MEXC's taker fee on major pairs; it has run repeated delisting rounds through 2026 including gaming tokens; access and product availability vary considerably by region.

Bybit

Strengths. A well-regarded derivatives engine with 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker on perpetuals; monthly third-party reserve attestation; a clean and widely praised trading interface.
Limitations. A flat 0.10% spot rate for both maker and taker at the standard tier, which is the least favourable maker rate in this group; fiat pairs run on a separate and higher schedule.

Bitget

Strengths. A strong copy-trading product with a long track record; a monthly Merkle-tree proof-of-reserves page; a user protection fund.
Limitations. 0.10% spot both ways as standard, reduced to 0.08% only when paying in BGB; identity verification is mandatory for core functions; press reports indicate it removed the ESPORTS gaming pair in June 2026, which we could not confirm against a primary source.

Who should use which platform

If you trade small GameFi positions frequently, or you hold tokens that larger venues have already dropped, MEXC is your answer.
The fee advantage on major pairs is real if modest, and the continuity advantage is the one that decides whether you have a market at all.
If you need to move institutional-sized positions in the few gaming tokens that still have real depth, Binance's order books are the better tool and the fee difference will not compensate for slippage.
If regulatory standing in your jurisdiction is your first filter, choose a platform licensed where you live, and accept the narrower token coverage that usually comes with it.
If copy trading is central to how you operate, Bitget's product is more mature than what any of the others offer here.
And if you are new to the sector rather than already holding, read our explainer on what GameFi actually is before choosing a venue at all.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best exchange for GameFi tokens?
Within this five-platform comparison, MEXC is our top pick, because it has the lowest standard spot taker fee at 0.0500% and continues to list gaming tokens after larger venues remove them.

Where can I buy GameFi tokens after they get delisted?
Delistings are venue-specific rather than global, so a token dropped by one exchange usually still trades elsewhere.
Check the token's listing status on a neutral data provider before you move anything.

Why are so many GameFi tokens being delisted?
Exchanges remove tokens that fall below liquidity and volume thresholds, and gaming tokens have been hit hard: 141 were delisted in the first half of 2026 alone.

Which exchange lists the most gaming tokens?
That question cannot be answered honestly, because every platform defines its gaming category differently.
One provider counted 840 tokens in the sector on the same day a major exchange's own category page listed 43.

What is the cheapest way to buy gaming tokens?
Using limit orders to pay the maker fee is the largest controllable saving, and MEXC's standard spot maker rate is 0.0000%.
The spread on thin tokens usually costs more than the fee either way.

Do I need KYC to buy GameFi tokens?
Requirements vary by platform and by the features you use, and some venues now require verification for all core functions.
Check the current policy on the platform you choose before depositing.

What happens if I do not withdraw a delisted token in time?
After the withdrawal window closes, some exchanges convert remaining balances to stablecoins on the holder's behalf, at a rate you do not control.
One major exchange set that date at 14 April 2026 for its February delisting round.

Risks and regional notes

GameFi tokens are among the most volatile assets in crypto, and the sector's total market capitalisation has fallen dramatically from its previous-cycle peak.
Individual tokens in this category regularly lose most of their value, and several named in this article trade more than 98% below their all-time highs.
Low-liquidity assets carry the additional risk that you may be unable to exit a position at a price close to the quoted one.
Nothing here is investment advice, and you should not commit funds you cannot afford to lose.
Readers in the United States and the United Kingdom should note that MEXC does not serve those markets, and should use a platform licensed by their local regulator.
Readers in the European Economic Area should note that MEXC is not authorised under the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation and appears on the European Securities and Markets Authority register of entities flagged by national regulators, following a decision by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets in September 2025.
Availability varies by jurisdiction, and you should confirm your own status before opening an account anywhere.
