Recently, users should remain alert to wallet-approval phishing and scams impersonating well-known crypto institutions. Chainalysis has reported that attackers often use fake official websites, lookalike domains, fraudulent recruitment offers, and social media direct messages to gain victims’ trust before persuading them to connect wallets or sign malicious approvals. Its 2026 research also indicates that some approval-phishing operations have become increasingly professionalized and scalable. CertiK data shows that wallet compromises caused approximately $444.5 million in losses during the first half of 2026, while phishing attacks accounted for around $366.3 million. Users should verify websites and contacts through official channels, never provide seed phrases or private keys to anyone claiming to be customer support, carefully review contract details, spending limits, and recipient addresses before signing Approve or Permit requests, and keep large holdings separate from everyday interaction wallets.
