Lido: Boosting Liquid Staking ETH Yields

Lido Finance’s Head of Institutional Relations Kean Gilbert stated to Cointelegraph at ETHCC 2026 that ETH treasury companies need to use liquid staking and active yield strategies to offer investors returns beyond listed ETH products. Liquid staking allows ETH holders to stake their tokens and receive usable, transferable tokens in DeFi. He expressed that higher returns than passive staking products can be obtained by using ETH as collateral and borrowing.

Gilbert argued that ETH treasury managers need to develop active strategies by integrating ETH detailed analysis tools to differentiate from passive products. With liquid staking, staked ETH tokens (like stETH) are used in DeFi protocols to generate additional yield.

US-Listed Staked ETH ETFs and Comparative Yields

Among US-listed staked ETH products are REX-Osprey ETH + Staking ETF (September 2025), Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF and Mini ETF, and BlackRock iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (March 12). The products’ staking yields vary: Grayscale ETHE at %2.26 (April 6), ETH at %2.56 (April 2), native staking at %2.72. Axis co-founder Jimmy Xue emphasized that treasury companies offer a different premium from ETFs through active management.
