First lady Melania Trump's jaw-dropping statement on Jeffrey Epstein deepened questions over why she spoke out as cryptic threats on social media surfaced, according to reports on Friday.

President Donald Trump's wife could have been speaking out in reaction to a series of claims made by a woman who was deported — and formerly tied to the Trumps' New York social circle, reported The Swamp, The Daily Beast's Substack.

"Complicating matters further: a woman claiming to be the ex-girlfriend of Paolo Zampolli — Melania’s former modeling agent turned presidential envoy — has been posting cryptic threats online, hinting she could 'spill' on alleged connections," according to The Swamp. "If the posts are authentic, that would be the same ex-girlfriend who claims Zampolli used his friendship with the Trumps to get her deported by ICE. Coincidence or catalyst? In Trumpworld, nothing is ever simple — and this saga is fast becoming a particularly tangled web."

The woman, who claims to be Amanda Ungaro, former partner and mother of Zampolli's child, has posted a series of replies targeting the first lady on X over the last several days.

"I will tear down your corrupt system, even if it’s the last thing I do in my life. I will go all the way—I am not afraid. Maybe you should be afraid of what I know… of who you are, and who your husband is," the person claiming to be Ungaro wrote.

Zampolli asked a top ICE official for help "to settle a personal score" and have the mother of his child deported during a custody battle, according to a major report from The New York Times in March.

Zampolli introduced Trump to Melania. He found out that his Brazilian ex-girlfriend, Amanda Ungaro, had been arrested on charges of fraud at her work and in custody at a Miami jail — and last year, Zampolli talked to a top official at ICE, David Venturella, to see if she could be placed in ICE detention.

The two had been going through a custody battle over their teenage son and "he saw an opportunity" to try and get him back, The Times report stated.

A source familiar with Zampolli's communications and records acquired by The Times revealed that Ungaro was picked up from a Miami jail by ICE agents before she could make bail and later deported. Although this could have happened without her ex-boyfriend's involvement, it raises questions about how members of the Trump administration have used the federal government during Trump's second term to pursue personal vendettas.

Zampolli denied to The Times that he sought special favors or that he had requested federal officials take Ungaro into custody.

On April 8, Ungaro's verified X account posted the following in reply to Melania Trump:

"Will take legal action against you and your p-------- husband. I have known you for 20 years. You knew I was detained in ICE. You were present in my life — every year on my son’s birthday, even sending Secret Service and being the first to congratulate him, back in 2016. Something was clearly wrong, but I am not part of any evil mission involving children. So what did you do, Melania? You tried to involve me, but you failed — because I have character."
