At InsurTech NY, Scott Deschamp from Data Logistics discussed how his company automates one of the most fundamental document processes in insurance: claims handling.
Data Logistics offers a configurable platform designed to automate the management of inbound documents and data flowing into insurance carriers and risk management companies. The platform is designed to handle information from any entry point, be it a P.O. box, email, or text, and process it quickly.
Deschamp explained that the company serves this data up to the client “in a clean, clean cut fashion,” allowing the carrier to take immediate action, such as paying a claim. Crucially, Data Logistics can also manage the outbound process, sending the carrier’s response back to the customer via mail, email, or text.
Currently, Data Logistics focuses primarily on the healthcare space, a natural fit since their parent company is a health insurance company. However, Deschamp emphasized that they are actively looking to expand into other lines of business, including property and casualty (P&C) and life insurance. Their current goal is to understand the unique claims processes of non-healthcare carriers to determine where their configurable platform can “plug in” and offer assistance.
