A popular decentralized finance (DeFi) platform has warned users to avoid interacting with its website following a security breach, the company said, underscoring ongoing vulnerabilities in the sector.
CoW Swap said it had detected unauthorized activity affecting its front-end interface and urged users not to connect their wallets or sign transactions until further notice. The issue appears to be limited to the website interface rather than the underlying smart contracts, though investigations are ongoing.
The team said it is working with security partners to identify the source of the breach and mitigate potential damage. It did not immediately disclose the scale of losses or whether user funds had been compromised.
Front-end attacks have become an increasingly common vector in DeFi, allowing hackers to manipulate user interfaces to trick users into approving malicious transactions, even when core protocols remain secure.
The warning comes amid a rise in crypto-related exploits in 2026, with hundreds of millions of dollars already lost to hacks and scams across the industry.
The platform said it would provide updates as more information becomes available.
