Trump's war is costing him supporters in deep-red military towns: report

Voters in deep-red military towns across Colorado and North Carolina told The New York Times they have turned against President Donald Trump over his handling of the Iran war.

Trump voter Emmelia Lorenzen expressed alarm at Trump's threat to annihilate Iranian civilization to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which handles 20% of global energy trade. Lorenzen noted Trump's campaign promise to avoid war contradicts rapid military escalation.

Iowa farmer Mark Nelson, also a Trump voter, criticized the war's expense and resource allocation, stating he saw no imminent danger justifying the conflict.

The poll of more than three dozen military town residents revealed widespread concern about the war's economic impacts and Trump's decision-making. The survey results suggest potential erosion of Trump support among traditionally Republican military communities.
