African fintech, Kredete, has partnered with Visa’s Africa division to expand stablecoin-backed card innovation across Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Kredete, which focuses on providing credit-building and cross-border financial services to African users and diaspora communities, has developed a stablecoin-backed credit card in partnership with Visa. The card enables users to spend U.S. dollar-backed stablecoins at more than 150 million merchants globally through Visa’s network.
The product, built on stablecoins such as USDC and supported by blockchain settlement, is designed to
for users across Africa.
Kredete said it is now accelerating the rollout of the card across additional African markets and expanding into GCC countries including
as part of a broader push into new corridors.
The company, founded in 2023, aims to address long-standing barriers in cross-border payments and credit access by combining remittances, stablecoin infrastructure and credit-building tools into a single platform.
