Binance Founder CZ Predicts the Future of Cryptocurrency – “The Word Cryptocurrency Will Disappear Within 5 Years”

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder and former CEO of Binance, gave an extensive interview in which he discussed his experiences during his time in prison and his new projects.

Appearing on “The Wolf Of All Streets” channel, Zhao made striking statements about the future of the crypto world, based on his newly published memoir, “Freedom of Money.”

CZ explained that he wrote the majority of his book while in federal prison, with only 15 minutes of access per day to a shared computer. He said he wanted to spend his time productively instead of engaging in routine prison activities like playing dominoes, stating, “I wanted to keep myself busy and share my experiences.” He added that he lost about 10 kilograms while in prison and developed a disciplined exercise routine during that time.

When asked why he went to the US and surrendered despite living in a country like the United Arab Emirates, with which there is no extradition agreement, Zhao responded that he made this decision to protect the future of Binance and BNB holders. He stated that he did not actually expect a prison sentence, adding that his lawyers could not find any precedent for a prison sentence in similar cases.

Zhao, who is quite optimistic about the future of cryptocurrencies, said, “I hope that in 5 years we will no longer use the word ‘crypto’ like we don’t use the word ‘internet’ today; it will just be ‘money’.” He predicted that blockchain technology will become a natural part of finance and that AI (artificial intelligence) agents will make extensive use of cryptocurrencies.

After being released from prison, CZ announced that he was dedicating his time to “Giggle Academy,” a free educational platform, and “Wise Labs,” which supports startups in web3, AI, and biotechnology. Zhao stated that Giggle Academy has already reached 240,000 students and that he would donate all proceeds from his book to charity.

CZ, who also offered advice to newly established entrepreneurs, reminded them that bear markets are actually the periods when the strongest projects are launched.
