Earlier today, in an announcement, Twitter released its support of Twitter Tips through the Lightning Network. Furthermore, this feature will allow you to directly integrate a third-party non-custodial wallet with your Twitter account and send/ receive tips. First, let’s understand Twitter tips in a bit more detail, and then we’ll move towards the steps to send/ receive BTC over Twitter.

Twitter has collaborated with Strike API (enabling Bitcoin + Lightning Network) that allows you to send/ receive Bitcoin using the Strike App easily. However, as of now, this service is only available to iOS users around the globe and will soon expand to all users throughout the world.

Twitter has partnered with Strike payments gateway, which recently launched a new feature called the Strike API. Twitter uses Strike API to connect your Twitter handle with the Strike app, and then you’re able to send payments directly through your strike account.
However, as of September 24, 2021 strike app is only available in the United States of America and El Salvador (we will be soon observing the expansion of this service.)
