Lagos’ growing demand for premium collaborative workspaces is getting a new addition with the unveiling of “The Hub”, a modern business and innovation facility situated inside The Chair Centre Building in Lekki Phase 1.

The Hub, owned by Nigerian businesswoman and author, Ibukun Awosika, is a multi-functional workspace offering conference facilities, private offices, boardrooms, and hybrid meeting technology for startups, corporate organisations, creatives, and business professionals.

Speaking during a media walkthrough of the facility, the Chief Operating Officer, Evelyn Paul, described the Hub as a flexible business environment built to support collaboration, productivity and enterprise growth.

According to her, the facility was created to serve businesses and professionals looking for spaces for meetings, strategy sessions, corporate retreats, training programmes and collaborative events.

She added that startup companies can also leverage the Hub for team retreats, investor meetings, workshops and networking sessions as they scale their operations.

One of the largest halls in the building can accommodate more than 200 guests, with Paul noting that the venue had previously hosted about 230 people successfully during an earlier event.

It also includes several executive boardrooms available for half-day and full-day bookings, alongside medium-sized training and conference rooms capable of seating about 50 people in theatre-style arrangements.

A major highlight of the facility is its smart video conferencing technology, which automatically focuses on active speakers during meetings, creating a seamless experience for hybrid collaboration and virtual communication,” she said.

The Hub’s membership structure sets individual membership at $1,500 and corporate membership at $5,000 annually.

She explained that the membership model is designed to give professionals and businesses access to premium facilities, collaborative opportunities and exclusive workspaces within the building.

The facility further includes private office spaces with dedicated access points for members seeking additional privacy and operational flexibility.

The Hub and the growing demand for flexible workspaces

The opening comes as demand for flexible workspaces and private meeting venues continues to grow in Lagos.

In recent years, businesses, startups and independent professionals have increasingly turned to co-working spaces and serviced offices as alternatives to traditional office setups, particularly in commercial areas such as Lekki and Victoria Island.

It joins a growing list of facilities targeting businesses seeking meeting venues, temporary workspaces and hybrid work infrastructure within Lagos’ business district.
