The company is deploying a high-resolution drone magnetic survey, systematic prospecting, sampling of historical waste dumps and workings, and a property-wide soil geochemistry campaign to refine its understanding of the tungsten-bearing skarn horizons.

The Rowland Tungsten Property has a history of tungsten production, with reported high-grade ore shipments during the 1940s and additional production in the 1950s. However, these historical figures have not been independently verified by the company. Western Star’s objective is to use modern geophysics and geochemistry to define the structural and geological controls on mineralization, with the goal of generating drill-ready targets during the 2026 field season.

The exploration program focuses on three immediate objectives: mapping the prospective skarn horizon more accurately, evaluating historical workings and waste dumps, and defining property-wide geochemical trends. The drone magnetic survey will provide high-resolution geophysical coverage to map intrusive contacts and structural corridors. Field crews will inspect and sample historical workings using portable XRF as a field-screening tool, though the company cautions that these readings are preliminary and not a substitute for certified laboratory assays.

The property is located in the Jarbidge mining district of northeastern Nevada, where tungsten mineralization is associated with skarn/tactite development along contacts between evolved intrusive rocks and carbonate-bearing sedimentary units. The geological setting features limestones, shales, and quartzites intruded by a Cretaceous-aged quartz monzonite stock, with contact metamorphism forming skarn and hornfels zones up to 100 feet wide.

Western Star believes the key exploration opportunity is that the broader system has not been systematically evaluated using modern tools. Historical mapping has defined prospective geology, but the orientation, continuity, and extent of mineralized skarn horizons remain insufficiently understood. The combination of drone magnetics, prospecting, XRF screening, and soil geochemistry is intended to identify structural corridors, concealed skarn zones, and geochemical anomalies.

Drone geophysical results are expected in the coming weeks, and soil samples will be submitted for certified laboratory analysis. The company expects to integrate these results with field mapping and historical data to prioritize targets for follow-up work, with the goal of defining priority drill targets during the 2026 field season.
