Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” now stands alone as the fifth-longest-running No. 1 ever on the Hot Country Songs chart, beating “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen. It should come as no surprise to anybody who has been watching the Billboard charts throughout 2026 that Ella Langley once again sits atop the Hot Country Songs ranking. Her single “Choosin’ Texas,” one of the most successful country cuts in years, is steady at No. 1 on the list of the most popular tracks in that one style throughout the United States.

As “Choosin’ Texas” refuses to move even one space, Langley breaks out of a tie with one of the top-performing acts in the genre, with whom she currently claims a huge win on the same tally.

Ella Langley Rules Again With “Choosin’ Texas”

As of this period, “Choosin’ Texas” has spent 26 weeks ruling the Hot Country Songs chart. The track has been present on the 50-space rundown for 31 frames, and it only needed a month before it dominated.

“Choosin’ Texas” Passes Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night”

Last week, “Choosin’ Texas” was matched with Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” and the two jointly claimed to be the fifth-longest-running leaders of all time on the Hot Country Songs chart. Now, “Choosin’ Texas” alone claims that honor, while “Last Night” settles into sixth place on the historic tally.

Ella Langley May Tie Gabby Barrett Very Soon

“Choosin’ Texas” continues to perform incredibly well when it comes to sales, streams and at radio, so it seems likely that when Billboard publishes new charts in a little more than a day, it will almost certainly continue to hold at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs roster. If that is the case, Langley’s breakout hit will advance again and tie Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope.” The American Idol contestant’s smash led the way for 27 weeks between 2020 and 2021, and it will likely have to share the spotlight as both “Choosin’ Texas” and “I Hope” may soon become the fourth-longest-running leaders.

Can “Choosin’ Texas” Match Sam Hunt or Shaboozey?

After tying “I Hope,” “Choosin’ Texas” will need to stay at No. 1 for another seven weeks in order to move up again on the historic rundown. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road,” with 34 turns at the summit, is the third-longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Hot Country Songs chart.

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” comes next with 45 weeks at No. 1. Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be” remains a month ahead of his first real smash with an incredible 50 stays in the Hot Country Songs ranking’s penthouse.

“Choosin’ Texas” Currently Rules Four Billboard Charts

“Choosin’ Texas” rules four of the 10 Billboard charts on which it appears this week. That’s a fantastic showing for a tune that has been around for more than half a year, but last time around, its performance was even more impressive. “Choosin’ Texas” drops from the top space on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Streaming Songs tallies, pushed down by an influx of Drake tracks from his new No. 1 album, Iceman.

Ella Langley Blocks Herself Again from New No. 1s

As has been the case for weeks throughout this spring, “Choosin’ Texas” keeps other songs by Langley from reaching the No. 1 slot on the Hot Country Songs roster. Second Dandelion single “Be Her” is comfortable at its all-time high of No. 2. “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” the singer-songwriter’s collaboration with Wallen, holds in third place. Neither of those songs have been able to advance any higher, as “Choosin’ Texas” will not relent.
