Safe Pro Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAI) announced it has received a U.S. Army order for a Threat Analysis Kit that combines its edge-compute NODE platform with Red Cat Holdings’ (NASDAQ: RCAT) Black Widow drones. The order, awarded through a Defense Prime Contractor subcontract, includes annual AI model and algorithm software upgrades, training and operational support services, with delivery expected during the second quarter of 2026.

The kit is powered by Safe Pro’s patented SPOTD technology, which uses AI and machine learning trained on one of the world’s largest real-world drone imagery datasets to detect landmines, unexploded ordnance, cluster munitions, ambush drones and other battlefield threats. Operating without the need for connectivity, the NODE platform rapidly converts drone-collected visual data into detailed 2D and 3D maps and models, providing enhanced battlefield situational awareness based on a dataset that includes more than 2.75 million drone images and over 50,000 confirmed threat detections from Ukraine.

This order underscores the U.S. military’s increasing reliance on autonomous systems and AI to improve soldier safety and operational efficiency. By leveraging commercially available drones and advanced computer vision, the kit offers a faster, safer alternative to manual threat detection methods. The integration of Red Cat’s Black Widow drones, known for their lightweight and portable design, further enhances the system’s deployability in diverse environments.

Safe Pro Group CEO Dan Erdberg emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating in the press release that the collaboration with Red Cat delivers a “complete, integrated solution that enhances warfighter safety.” The company’s SPOTD technology has been validated in real-world conditions, particularly in Ukraine, where it has processed over 50,000 confirmed threat detections. This real-world data is critical for training the AI models to recognize various explosive hazards.

The implications of this order extend beyond immediate military applications. Safe Pro’s platform targets multiple markets, including commercial, government, law enforcement, and humanitarian sectors. The ability to rapidly map and identify threats from drone imagery can accelerate demining efforts in post-conflict zones, support disaster response, and enhance security operations. According to the company, its scalable platform is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is designed to work synergistically with its other offerings, such as Safe-Pro USA protective gear and Airborne Response drone services.

This development also highlights the growing convergence of AI, drone technology, and defense contracting. As the U.S. Army modernizes its capabilities, orders like this signal a shift toward more autonomous, data-driven tools for battlefield intelligence. For investors, the order validates Safe Pro’s technology and its potential for further adoption within the defense sector.
