Centenario Gold Corp. (TSXV: CTG) has announced the completion of a first-phase exploration program at its Los Reyes Project in Chihuahua, Mexico, where underground sampling has encountered high-grade copper mineralization in skarn zones. The project, located 225 km south of Chihuahua City near Highway 49, includes the El Rey and El Rey 2 mineral claims, which cover segments of an intrusive-sediment contact where copper-rich mineralization occurs.

The exploration program focused on mapping and sampling old mine dumps and underground workings originally developed by ASARCO in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Historical records indicate that approximately 200,000 tons of copper-zinc-silver material were mined from the Los Reyes area during that period. Centenario collected 58 rock samples, including 40 from underground workings at the Tuesda and Jibosa mines, which were analyzed by ALS Chemex in Chihuahua.

The mineralization at El Rey occurs as chalcopyrite, bornite, malachite, azurite, and chalcocite within irregular, semi-tabular lenses up to 60 meters wide along the granodiorite-limestone contact. The altered zone extends for more than 800 meters along strike and up to 120 meters in width. At the Tuesda shaft, the mineralized zone showed thicknesses of up to 20 meters, while at Jibosa, the mineralized body did not exceed 15 meters. Higher sulfide content is expected further north of the Tuesda Shaft, with fragments of magnetite and skarn found in old dumps suggesting copper-gold skarn-type mineralization.

The assay results from the 58 samples are expected by mid-June, and the company plans to release the geochemical data promptly. This information will help refine the understanding of mineralization controls and distribution. Based on these findings, Centenario intends to proceed with a second-phase drilling program in July, consisting of approximately 1,500 meters to test strike and down-dip extensions of the copper-rich skarn zones below 50 meters depth. The primary drill targets are near the Jibosa and Tuesda shafts, where underground sampling identified significant widths of mineralization.

Derrick Strickland, an independent Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical disclosure in this release. The company notes that while historical data from adjacent properties suggests continuity of mineralization, these have not been verified by the qualified person.

Centenario Gold Corp., headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, focuses on acquiring and developing high-potential mineral projects in the Americas, with a primary emphasis on gold, copper, and silver. The company is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and continues to evaluate new opportunities to expand its portfolio. Further information is available on the company’s website at www.centenariogold.com.

The completion of this initial exploration phase marks a significant step toward advancing the Los Reyes Project, which has not seen modern systematic sampling until now. The upcoming drill program will be critical in assessing the economic potential of the copper-skarn system and could lead to resource delineation in a historically productive mining district.
