IPOH, June 14 — Four men were arrested on suspicions of stealing Telekom Malaysia cables in Persiaran Komersial Waterfront, Jalan Lintang near Sungai Siput yesterday.
Sungai Siput district police chief Supt Charan a/l Ai Wan said the suspects, 31 to 50, were arrested by an anti-crime police patrol at about 5.30am.
“All suspects have prior criminal and drug records, and three of them tested positive for morphine,” he said in a statement today.
Ten pieces of cables, cable-cutting tools and a stolen red Ford Ranger were also seized, he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
