Where’s that umbrella: Thunderstorms, heavy rainfall expected all over Malaysia till up to 6pm

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in almost all states apart from Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 6pm today.

MetMalaysia in its warning at 2.25 pm said the weather conditions are expected to occur throughout the states of Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

In Kedah, the areas affected are Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu, while in Penang it includes Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan.

The weather conditions are also predicted to occur in Terengganu involving Dungun and Kemaman, while in Pahang it involves Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

In Negeri Sembilan, it involves the areas of Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah and Rembau, while in Johor it includes Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi.

For Sarawak, the areas predicted to be affected are Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Matu), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan) and Limbang (Lawas).

Meanwhile, in Sabah, warnings have been issued for the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Keningau and Tambunan), West Coast, Tawau (Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu) and Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan and Sandakan). — Bernama
