GLOBE TELECOM, Inc. said it is further upgrading its network in Visayas through strengthening mobile and fiber connectivity in Aklan and Antique.
“Connectivity is a powerful enabler of economic growth, social inclusion, and community resilience. By strengthening our network, expanding broadband access, and investing in solutions that keep people connected during critical situations, we are helping build stronger communities and opening more opportunities for every Filipino,” Globe Chief Commercial Officer Darius Jose R. Delgado said in a media release on Sunday.
The listed telecommunications company said it is working with the local government to enhance network infrastructure, and expand its broadband coverage across the two provinces.
Globe said that under its 2026 roadmap, the company is deploying network enhancements to boost mobile coverage, increase data capacity, and to help expand digitalization for its customers.
The company operates over 100 sites in Aklan, enabling it to provide coverage across 17 municipalities, as well as 5G connectivity. It also operates more than 80 sites in Antique, providing 5G connectivity in the area.
“Globe’s ongoing growth in network modernization supports its broader goal of expanding digital access and improving connectivity for communities across the Philippines. In Aklan and Antique, these efforts are focused on providing more reliable services that enable education, business, government operations, and everyday communication,” it said. — Ashley Erika O.
