PETALING JAYA: Tawau police chief Jasmin Hussin died early this morning at the age of 53.
In a Facebook post, the district police headquarters said Jasmin, a Tawau native, breathed his last at Tawau Hospital at 2.04am.
He was appointed head of Tawau police in March 2022 and previously served as deputy chief of the Sabah police’s crime prevention and community safety department.
Sabah police chief Jauteh Dikun described Jasmin as a dedicated officer who maintained his integrity and carried out his duties responsibly.
“His friendly, humble, and approachable demeanour made him a leader held in high regard by the police force and local community. His demise is a huge loss to the force,” he said in a Facebook post.
