KPJ Healthcare launches digestive care campaign

PETALING JAYA: KPJ Healthcare Berhad today launched its Digestive Care 4 Life campaign, a nationwide initiative focused on promoting digestive health awareness, preventive healthcare and early intervention.

In a statement, KPJ Healthcare said many digestive diseases may develop with minimal or no early symptoms, resulting in missed opportunities for timely diagnosis and treatment.

As one of the Digestive Care 4 Life campaign’s key initiatives, KPJ Healthcare will provide 500 complimentary endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures for patients referred from health ministry facilities to participating KPJ hospitals.

KPJ Healthcare said the complimentary procedures aim to support earlier diagnosis and intervention for those requiring further assessment.

“Many digestive conditions can be managed more effectively when identified early, yet barriers such as cost, limited awareness and hesitation often delay patients from seeking appropriate assessment,” said KPJ Healthcare president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan.

“Through Digestive Care 4 Life, we hope to encourage more Malaysians to take proactive steps to protect their health before conditions become more serious and more difficult to treat.”

KPJ Healthcare also announced a community outreach initiative in collaboration with the Malaysian Federation of the Deaf and Hear Me Malaysia, which will provide 100 complimentary health screenings for members of the deaf community.

The initiative is part of KPJ Healthcare’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive healthcare and strengthen engagement with the deaf and hard-of-hearing while encouraging earlier identification of potential health concerns and supporting follow-up care where needed.
