Helika, an AI character platform, has launched Helika Evolve, a new platform that enables brands to bring their recognizable characters to life as interactive AI personas. These AI-powered characters can engage with fans across websites, social media, and online communities, remembering past interactions and building personalized relationships at scale.
According to Helika, the platform addresses a fundamental challenge in marketing: while advertising buys attention, it does not build the connection that earns trust. Evolve aims to fill that gap by turning brand mascots into conversational partners that can carry the brand’s values, show emotion, hold opinions, and keep memory of past conversations. Fans can interact with these characters on platforms they already use, including Discord, X, and company websites.
The company cites research from System1 and the IPA indicating that campaigns built around a character are 37 percent more likely to grow market share and 30 percent more likely to grow profit. Campaigns featuring a recurring mascot are 73 percent more likely to post a major rise in profit, according to the IPA. Nielsen found that 92 percent of consumers trust a recommendation from someone they know over advertising, and Edelman reported that 84 percent say a personal recommendation shapes what they buy.
Brands retain full control over their characters’ personalities, knowledge bases, and guardrails, which set limits on what characters can say and how they handle conflict. Helika emphasizes that brand safety is foundational to the platform. Characters can be adjusted in real time, and every exchange feeds insights back to the brand, including trending topics, sentiment shifts, and conversion-driving conversations.
Helika tested Evolve in live communities, where fans moved beyond initial curiosity into repeat conversations. They returned to pick up where they left off, staying engaged long after the first exchange. The pilot confirmed that fans form lasting relationships with characters that can engage with them meaningfully.
“Interactive AI characters represent a new category of fan engagement,” said Anton Umnov, founder and CEO of Helika. “Brands have spent years building recognition through mascots and characters. Helika transforms those characters into intelligent AI companions that can engage audiences, manage communities, and build trusted relationships at scale.”
Founded three years ago in North America, Helika serves more than 60 studios, including Nexon, Ubisoft, Yuga Labs, and Com2Us, and has co-designed projects with Ubisoft. The company has raised $15 million from investors including Sagard, Pantera Capital, Animoca Brands, Fenbushi Capital, and Big Brain Holdings. More information is available at https://www.helika.io.
The launch of Evolve comes as brands seek new ways to cut through ad fatigue and build genuine connections with consumers. By turning static mascots into intelligent, interactive companions, Helika aims to offer a scalable solution for earning trust through conversation rather than interruption.
