PN election director Sanusi Nor said all candidates will contest under the coalition’s logo.
KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu will contest the largest number of seats among Perikatan Nasional parties in the Johor state election on July 11, according to the coalition’s election director, Sanusi Nor.
However, he did not disclose the total number of seats PN will contest.
“Yes, Bersatu will contest the most seats. The allocation was made based on each party’s confidence (of winning seats), taking into account the strength of their machinery, voter support, and previous experience contesting,” he told reporters after a PN seat allocation meeting at the PAS headquarters here today.
Sanusi said all 34 overlapping seat claims among PN component parties have been resolved, while the non-overlapping seats were left to the respective parties to decide.
“My task was to negotiate the overlapping seats. The non-overlapping seats were free for the parties to decide. All overlapping claims have now been resolved,” he said.
He said Pejuang will contest one seat – Bukit Gambir – while Parti Wawasan Negara did not submit any application to contest in Johor.
“All candidates will contest under the PN logo,” he said.
Sanusi, who is also the PAS election director, said the Islamic party would announce its candidates in Muar tomorrow.
