As Central Asia accelerates its digital transformation, one event is emerging as a key meeting point for government leaders, financial institutions, fintech innovators, crypto companies, investors, and technology providers: PLUS-Forum Digital Kyrgyzstan.

Scheduled to bring together some of the region’s most influential decision-makers, the forum offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the technologies and policies shaping the future of Kyrgyzstan and the broader Central Asian market.

The event focuses on the digitalization of government services, banking, payments, telecommunications, retail, and financial infrastructure. At a time when countries across the region are investing heavily in digital public services and cashless economies, Kyrgyzstan is positioning itself as an increasingly important hub for innovation and cross-border cooperation.

For the crypto and blockchain industry, the forum is particularly relevant. Discussions will explore the growing role of blockchain technology, smart contracts, digital assets, and cryptocurrency platforms. Participants will also examine how digital currencies could strengthen financial inclusion and modernize national financial systems.

Artificial intelligence is another major theme. Speakers will discuss practical applications of AI across public administration, finance, cybersecurity, and business operations. As governments and enterprises increasingly adopt AI-driven solutions, the forum provides a valuable platform for understanding both the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Financial innovation remains at the heart of the agenda. Topics such as Open Banking, Open APIs, instant payment systems, digital lending, Buy Now Pay Later services, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and the future of retail banking are expected to attract strong interest from regional banks, fintech firms, and payment providers.

Beyond technology, the forum offers significant networking opportunities. Attendees will include representatives from ministries, central government agencies, banks, venture capital firms, stock exchanges, insurance companies, IT parks, accelerators, telecom operators, payment systems, retail chains, and crypto businesses from across Central Asia and beyond.

One of the event’s strongest advantages is its ability to connect international companies with local stakeholders. Organizations seeking partnerships, market entry opportunities, investment prospects, or government cooperation in Kyrgyzstan will find direct access to key decision-makers and potential business partners.

As digital transformation reshapes Central Asia’s economic landscape, PLUS-Forum Digital Kyrgyzstan is becoming more than just a conference. It is increasingly a platform where future projects, regulatory discussions, investment opportunities, and technological partnerships take shape.

For anyone interested in the intersection of fintech, digital government, blockchain, AI, payments, and economic modernization in Central Asia, this is an event worth watching—and attending.

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

The post UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. This condition should, in theory, reduce the risk of sudden platform failures or unclear accountability. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong. However, the regulator was also frank in its submission, arguing that no rulebook can eliminate the volatility or inherent risks of holding digital assets. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that when consumers choose to invest, they do…
