Riot Platforms transferred another 500 BTC to NYDIG Custody, worth about $30.7 million with Bitcoin trading near $61,335.
The move was flagged through Arkham-labeled wallet data and follows a series of similar Riot transfers to NYDIG during 2026. The latest 500 BTC movement does not confirm that the coins were sold, but NYDIG deposits have repeatedly appeared in Riot’s onchain sale pattern this year.

Riot used NYDIG-linked flows earlier in 2026 as it reduced part of its Bitcoin treasury. Arkham previously flagged Riot transfers to NYDIG as likely sale-related activity, while onchain trackers also recorded recurring 500 BTC movements from Riot wallets to the institutional custody platform.
Riot is one of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin miners by market value, with RIOT recently trading near $22.11 on Nasdaq. The company’s market capitalization was about $7.69 billion at the latest market check.
Riot’s own Q1 production update listed 3,778 BTC sold for $289.5 million in net proceeds during the first quarter. The company produced 1,473 BTC over the same period and ended March with 15,680 BTC held.
A separate SEC filing said Riot evaluates the amount of Bitcoin retained on its balance sheet against cash requirements for operations and expansion. The same Q1 filing listed a net loss of $500.5 million, including $326.7 million in non-cash losses from changes in the fair value of Bitcoin.
That selling pattern had already placed Riot among the miners reducing treasury reserves in 2026. Riot sold 3,778 Bitcoin in Q1, generating more BTC from sales than from quarterly production.
Miner selling has also appeared beyond Riot. Cango used a 2,000 BTC sale to retire Bitcoin-backed loans as several public miners reduced holdings during weaker margins.
The latest NYDIG transfer should be treated as a potential sale signal rather than a confirmed sale. A custody transfer can support sale execution, secured financing, internal treasury management or another institutional operation.
Riot has not announced a new sale tied to the latest 500 BTC transfer. Confirmation would require a company update, filing, or clear transaction trail showing executed sale proceeds rather than only a custody movement.
Bitcoin recently traded near $61,335, with a 24-hour range between about $60,043 and $62,056. At that price, Riot’s 500 BTC transfer was worth about $30.7 million.
