Disgraced former Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum is facing drug charges after an arrest in Alabama, TMZ reported on Tuesday morning.
Gillum, who narrowly lost a high-profile race against Ron DeSantis in 2018, "was taken into custody Thursday night by officers in Daphne, AL, and then booked in the Baldwin County jail for possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, according to online police records," though local police have not released further details about the incident.

This is not the first time Gillum has been involved with drugs. In 2020, he was found intoxicated in a Miami Beach hotel room with two other men and bags of crystal meth on the floor.
Gillum denied drug use at the time and said he was simply drunk, but a sex worker later told GQ he and Gillum had done drugs together.
In 2022, Gillum was indicted on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and false statements to the FBI, related to allegations of soliciting bribes from developers while he was mayor of Tallahassee.
He was acquitted on the false statements charges, and the jury hung on the other charges.
