What is idOS? The decentralized identity and data network, an open-source and chain-agnostic system designed to give users full control over their identity data in Web3. As we say … gud tek!
At its core, it enables self-sovereign identity so the users own their encrypted data, from credentials to KYC details, and decide who can access it, when, and for how long. Privacy for a new crypto era.
Access can be granted or revoked at any time, putting control back into the hands of the individual. One of its biggest advantages is reusable verification.
Complete a KYC once, and it can be reused across multiple apps and services, removing the need for repeated onboarding. The network is powered by several components but main ones are:
- The idOS Storage Network is a decentralized set of nodes where encrypted user data, including verifiable credentials
- The Economy Network, still being developed, will manage incentives, fees, and access grants, with the IDOS token at its centre.
It runs on Arbitrum Orbit infrastructure to ensure scalability and sustainability. The Access Management Protocol ties everything together, giving users a seamless way to grant, manage, and revoke permissions — including advanced features like time-locked access.
