Morgan Stanley opens crypto investments to all wealth clients, including retirement accounts, as it expands its digital asset services.

Morgan Stanley, a global banking giant managing $8 trillion in assets, is expanding its crypto investment services to all wealth management clients.

The move marks a significant shift from previous policies, which restricted access to crypto funds based on clients’ risk profiles and asset levels. Starting in mid-October, all of Morgan Stanley’s wealth management clients will be able to invest in cryptocurrencies, including those with retirement accounts.

Expanded Access to Crypto Investments

Previously, Morgan Stanley limited crypto investments to clients with an aggressive risk tolerance and assets of at least $1.5 million.

This new policy removes those restrictions, opening crypto investments to all wealth clients, including those with retirement accounts like 401(k)s. This move aligns with recent regulatory changes, such as the executive order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump, which allowed 401(k) funds to invest in crypto.

Financial advisors at Morgan Stanley will be able to offer crypto investment options to all clients starting October 15. The bank’s decision follows growing institutional interest in cryptocurrencies, as more financial firms embrace digital assets.

Morgan Stanley’s Future Plans for Crypto Trading

In addition to expanding access to crypto investments, Morgan Stanley plans to offer crypto trading services to its E-trade clients next year. This will include support for major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

The bank’s expansion into crypto trading aligns with the growing demand for access to digital currencies among institutional investors.

By broadening its crypto offerings, Morgan Stanley is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving digital asset space. This move is part of a larger trend among financial institutions, which are increasingly looking to tap into the growing crypto market.

Recommended Crypto Allocations for Clients

Morgan Stanley has also provided specific recommendations regarding crypto investments. For growth-oriented investors, the bank suggests allocating up to 4% of their portfolio to cryptocurrencies.

For those seeking market growth, the recommendation is 3%, while balanced growth investors are advised to allocate 2% to digital assets.

The firm emphasizes that cryptocurrencies remain a speculative asset class. However, it acknowledges their increasing popularity and potential for opportunistic growth.

Morgan Stanley’s global investment committee continues to monitor the market, providing clients with guidance on navigating crypto investments.

Morgan Stanley’s decision to expand crypto access is a clear indication of the increasing mainstream adoption of digital assets. With crypto becoming a more integral part of institutional investment portfolios, more financial firms will likely follow suit in the near future.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
