Mutuum Finance raises $17.1m as its DeFi presale gains momentum ahead of next price increase.

Summary

  • Mutuum Finance raises $17.1m as structured presale model drives DeFi momentum.
  • With the money raised, Mutuum’s transparent presale model could position it as one of 2025’s leading DeFi project.
  • Over 16,800 investors have joined Mutuum Finance, backing its $17m DeFi presale success story.

While many crypto presales in 2025 have struggled to maintain momentum after their early hype phases, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is charting a different path. The Ethereum-based DeFi protocol has paired a transparent pricing structure with active development and broad investor participation, pushing it to one of the largest early-stage funding totals of the year.

With more than $17.1 million raised and the next price increase approaching, analysts are increasingly calling it one of the standout presales heading toward launch.

Structured presale model drives consistent growth

Mutuum Finance is an Ethereum-based decentralized lending and borrowing protocol focused on building efficient on-chain markets. Its ecosystem is built on real utility rather than speculation. Users can supply assets to earn yield, borrow against collateral under structured risk parameters, and participate in a revenue-sharing model that continuously drives demand for the MUTM token.

The presale uses a fixed-price, staged structure that has underpinned its steady rise. Each stage offers a fixed number of tokens at a set price. Once the allocation sells out, the next stage begins at roughly 20% higher, giving early participants meaningful appreciation while keeping pricing clear for newcomers.

Phase 1 launched at $0.01, offering one of the lowest entry points of the year. After five fully completed stages, the token price has climbed to $0.035 in Phase 6, representing a 250% increase for the earliest participants. The final listing price is locked at $0.06, positioning early buyers for up to 500% token appreciation at launch. Even investors entering now could expect close to a 2x MUTM value increase once listing targets are met.

Broad participation strengthens launch dynamics

Strong fundraising has been matched by wide token distribution, a factor analysts often associate with healthier post-listing performance. Over 16,800 investors have joined the presale so far, with more than 750 million tokens allocated across thousands of addresses. This reduces whale concentration and helps set the stage for stable liquidity once trading begins.

The team has also introduced a real-time presale dashboard, allowing participants to connect wallets and monitor allocations live. A Top 50 leaderboard rewards the largest contributors with bonus MUTM allocations at launch, adding a competitive layer that has kept engagement high as the sale advances.

Development timeline adds credibility

Many presales raise capital months before any functional product is ready. Mutuum Finance is taking a more synchronized approach. In a recent X statement, the team confirmed that development of Version 1 (V1) of its protocol is underway, with a Sepolia testnet launch scheduled for Q4 2025.

This initial release will include liquidity pools, mtTokens, debt tokens, and a liquidator bot, with ETH and USDT as the first supported assets for lending, borrowing, and collateral. By aligning technical delivery with its fundraising phases, Mutuum Finance provides a level of visibility and credibility that many early-stage projects lack.

Dual lending architecture sets the stage for growth

A key strength of Mutuum Finance lies in its dual lending structure, which supports both mainstream assets and specialized lending without compromising stability. In the Peer-to-Contract (P2C) model, users can deposit assets such as ETH and USDT into pooled markets to earn yield, while borrowers gain instant access to liquidity. Alongside this, the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) model allows isolated lending agreements for less common tokens, offering flexible terms while shielding the main pools from additional risk.

Borrowing rates adjust dynamically based on utilization. When liquidity is abundant, variable rates remain attractive to encourage borrowing. If utilization rises above 90%, rates increase to incentivize repayments and attract fresh deposits. Borrowers can also opt for stable rates to lock in predictable costs, with the option to rebalance if market conditions shift.

Collateral rules are clearly defined. Stablecoins and ETH typically support Loan-to-Value ratios of up to 75%, with liquidation thresholds near 80%. More volatile assets are capped at lower levels to control risk. Lenders receive mtTokens representing their deposits, which accrue yield and can be staked to benefit from the platform’s buy-and-distribute mechanism.

Analysts believe this mix of dual lending markets, flexible rates, and strong collateral management mirrors the conditions that fueled the early success of protocols like Aave. Once adoption scales as expected, mid-term price targets between $0.50 and $1.00 are being floated by several market observers.

Security, transparency, and community engagement

Security has been a core focus from the outset. Mutuum Finance recently completed a CertiK audit, earning a 90/100 Token Scan score and placing it among the stronger audited DeFi projects approaching launch this year.

A $50,000 tiered bug bounty is encouraging external developers to test the code and report vulnerabilities, while a $100,000 community giveaway rewards early supporters. Ten winners will each receive $10,000 worth of MUTM tokens, further expanding community reach. Combined with the live dashboard and transparent reporting, these steps have built a level of accountability rarely seen at this stage of fundraising.

A Critical moment as phase 6 rapidly sells out

Phase 6 of Mutuum Finance’s presale is moving quickly, with the majority of tokens already allocated and the price set to rise to $0.04 in the next stage. This stage marks a key turning point in the sale, as later rounds typically accelerate once supply begins to tighten and the listing price of $0.06 comes into clearer focus. Each completed stage not only raises the price but also signals growing demand, creating a natural sense of urgency among those still watching from the sidelines.

The pace of Phase 6 matters because it determines the cost basis for new participants ahead of listing and the rollout of the beta platform. Securing tokens now positions buyers at one of the lowest entry points before public trading begins. Historically, late-stage presales that pair strong demand with clear development milestones have seen momentum build sharply in their final phases, and Mutuum Finance appears to be following that pattern closely.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
