A House of Dynamite, a political thriller from Kathryn Bigelow starring Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson, is now showing in limited release in theaters. When will the Netflix film begin streaming on the platform?
Rated R, A House of Dynamite opened in theaters on Friday. The official logline for A House of Dynamite reads, “When a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.”
Bigelow, of course, is the director of 2009’s The Hurt Locker, which earned six Oscars overall, including Best Picture, Best Director for Bigelow and Best Original Screenplay for Mark Boal.
Elba stars as the U.S. president in A House of Dynamite, while Ferguson plays Capt. Olivia Walker. The film also stars Jared Harris, Anthony Ramos, Gabriel Basso, Tracy Letts, Willa Fitzgerald, Moses Ingram, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Kaitlyn Dever, Jonah Hauer-King, Brian Tee, Jason Clark and Greta Lee.
A House of Dynamite is scheduled to debut on Netflix on Friday, Oct. 24, at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT.

A House of Dynamite has received an 83% “fresh” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 124 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus for the film reads, “Playing out a nightmare scenario with nerve-wracking plausibility, Kathryn Bigelow’s masterfully-constructed A House of Dynamite is an urgent thriller that’s as distressing as it is riveting.”
In addition, A House of Dynamite has earned an 81% “fresh” rating on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 50-plus verified user ratings. RT’s audience summary is still pending.
