Roofman, a crime comedy starring Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage, is reportedly coming soon to digital streaming.
Directed by Derek Cianfrance, Roofman opened in theaters on Oct. 10. The summary for the film reads, “Based on an unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Tatum), a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname ‘Roofman.’
“After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys ‘R’ Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh (Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.”
Rated R, Roofman also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Ben Mendelsohn, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias and Jimmy O. Yang.
Roofman is expected to arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, Nov. 11, according to When to Stream. While the streaming tracker is typically accurate with its PVOD release dates, When to Stream did not indicate if the release date was announced or confirmed by Roofman’s studio, Paramount Pictures, and it is subject to change.
When Roofman arrives on PVOD, it will be available on a variety of digital platforms, including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube. Prime Video currently has Roofman up for pre-order for purchase for $24.99.
Since digital streaming prices are typically $5 less than purchase prices, viewers can expect to rent Roofman for $19.99 for 48 hours.
How Was ‘Roofman’ Received By Audiences And Critics?
Roofman to date has earned $8.1 million domestically and more than $200,000 internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $8.3 million. The film had a production budget of $19 million before prints and advertising costs, according to Variety.
Roofman earned an 84% “fresh” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 128 reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus for the film reads, “A disarmingly sweet tonal gearshift for director Derek Cianfrance, Roofman is shaggy as a narrative but expertly tailored to Channing Tatum’s strengths as an eminently likable leading man.”
The film also received an 86% “fresh” Popcornmeter rating on RT based on 500-plus verified user ratings. The RT audience summary for Roofman is still pending.
Roofman is playing in theaters nationwide and expected to arrive on PVOD on Nov. 11.
