PANews reported on October 15th that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company announced the list of participants for the second phase of the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenA.I.) Sandbox. Of over 60 proposals, 27 use cases from 20 banks and 14 technology partners were invited to participate in the second phase of the GenA.I. Sandbox. The second phase of the Sandbox program focuses on proactively strengthening AI governance, with several use cases employing an "AI against AI" strategy. For example, AI is used to automate quality control of AI-generated content, improving system accuracy and consistency at scale. Sandbox participants will begin accessing the dedicated platform of the Cyberport Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Center later this year, with technical testing expected to begin in early 2026.
