  • Shibarium’s Plasma Bridge returns online with stricter security features, including a 7-day withdrawal delay.
  • A blacklist system is introduced to block suspicious wallet addresses in real time.
  • The upgrade follows independent testing and validation by Hexens, ensuring stronger protection for users.

The Shiba Inu development team has officially reactivated the Plasma Bridge, a key channel linking Ethereum’s mainnet with Shibarium’s Layer-2 blockchain.

This bridge allows users to move BONE tokens, which serve as Shibarium’s gas and governance token, between the two chains.

Developer Kaal Dhairya confirmed that the reopening followed a detailed review and several major security upgrades designed to provide a safer transaction environment for users.

The latest version of the Plasma Bridge introduces a “dual-defense” model focused on both prevention and response.

The upgrade emphasizes maintaining the bridge’s operational capacity while ensuring strong defenses against potential exploits, a problem that has troubled several other cross-chain platforms in the past.

Dhairya described the new bridge as “safer, stronger, and more resilient,” reflecting the project’s renewed focus on protecting network liquidity and user funds.

Shibarium adds a 7-day delay for BONE withdrawals

Under the new system, all BONE withdrawals from Shibarium via the Plasma Bridge will face a mandatory seven-day delay before completion.

This period serves as a challenge window, allowing the team to monitor transactions for any abnormal behavior. The system gives operators time to detect and respond to fraudulent or suspicious activities before funds are finalized on-chain.

Alongside the delay, a new blacklist function has been added to the bridge infrastructure. This tool can immediately block suspicious addresses detected during monitoring, preventing further exploit attempts.

The combination of both systems, delayed finalization and real-time blocking, creates a layered security mechanism that aims to deter potential attackers while ensuring genuine users can transact securely.

Shiba Inu Tests Plasma Bridge before Reopening

Before reopening the Plasma Bridge to the public, the Shiba Inu team conducted extensive testing under real network conditions, including simulation trials and deployment on the Puppynet testnet.

The cybersecurity firm Hexens, known for its blockchain audits, independently validated these results, confirming the bridge’s improved safety standards.

Looking ahead, the Shiba Inu developers plan to expand bridge support beyond BONE to include other ecosystem tokens. They also intend to launch a repayment program for users impacted by previous disruptions.

These initiatives underline the project’s broader goal, creating a transparent and community-centered network where security remains the top priority.

The post How The ByteDance App Survived Trump And A US Ban appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. (Photo by Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images) Getty Images From President Trump’s first ban attempt to a near-blackout earlier this year, TikTok’s five-year roller coaster ride looks like it’s finally slowing down now that Trump has unveiled a deal framework to keep the ByteDance app alive in the U.S. A look back at the saga around TikTok starting in 2020, however, shows just how close the app came to being shut out of the US – how it narrowly averted a ban and forced sale that found rare bipartisan backing in Washington. Recapping TikTok’s dramatic five-year battle When I interviewed Brendan Carr back in 2022, for example, the future FCC chairman was already certain at that point that TikTok’s days were numbered. For a litany of perceived sins — everything from the too-cozy relationship of the app’s parent company with China’s ruling regime to the app’s repeated floating of user privacy — Carr was already convinced, at least during his conversation with me, that: “The tide is going out on TikTok.” It was, in fact, one of the few issues that Washington lawmakers seemed to agree on. Even then-President Biden was on board, having resurrected Trump’s aborted TikTok ban from his first term and signed it into law. “It feels different now than it did two years ago at the end of the Trump administration, when concerns were first raised,” Carr told me then, in August of 2022. “I think, like a lot of things in the Trump era, people sort of picked sides on the issue based on the fact that it was Trump.” One thing led to another, though, and it looked like Carr was probably…
