The AI company revealed it installed its veriScan platform at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The system supports U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Enhanced Passenger Processing program.

The program provides secure entry processing for returning U.S. citizens. BigBear.ai worked with the Chicago Department of Aviation on the rollout.

The veriScan platform uses AI-powered biometrics to verify travelers in real time. The technology checks identities using facial recognition.

CBP data shows the Enhanced Passenger Processing program has cut wait times drastically. Processing times dropped from 60 seconds to just 10 seconds per traveler at airports nationwide.

CEO Kevin McAleenan called border security a matter of trusted identity. He said combining BigBear.ai’s biometric tech with CBP’s security framework ensures verification stays both smooth and secure.

O’Hare handles massive international passenger volumes daily. The airport ranks among America’s busiest international gateways.

Recent Contract Wins Drive Momentum

The O’Hare deployment follows other recent BigBear.ai announcements. On October 13, the company partnered with Tsecond to bring AI capabilities to military tactical operations.

That deal integrates BigBear’s ConductorOS software with rugged BRYCK hardware. The systems will let U.S. forces run AI analytics in the field without cloud connectivity.

The stock jumped 22% in one day on that news. Shares briefly touched $9.39 before pulling back.

BigBear also worked with SMX on a Navy surveillance project in September. The company provided AI-driven maritime monitoring for UNITAS 2025 naval exercises.

The veriScan platform already launched at Nashville International Airport in September. That deployment also streamlined international arrivals using facial recognition.

Financial Picture Shows Mixed Results

Recent earnings painted a complicated picture. Second quarter revenue fell 18% year-over-year to $32.5 million.

A one-time accounting charge created a $228.6 million net loss for the quarter. Management cut full-year 2025 sales guidance to $125-$140 million from roughly $155 million.

Profit forecasts were withdrawn due to project delays. However, BigBear ended Q2 with $390 million in cash.

The company also holds a $380 million contract backlog. That gives it financial runway and points to potential future revenue.

Wall Street analysts mostly rate the stock a Hold. The average 12-month price target sits around $6, below current trading levels.

H.C. Wainwright stands out with a Buy rating and $8 price target. The firm praised BigBear’s balance sheet and expected government AI spending growth.

Other analysts warn the valuation looks stretched. The stock trades at roughly 13 times projected 2025 sales.

A Simply Wall St model estimates fair value near $5.83. That would make the stock about 20% overvalued at recent prices.

Third quarter earnings are scheduled for November 10. That report could trigger sharp moves in either direction given the stock’s volatility.

BigBear.ai has surged roughly 80-100% year-to-date in 2025. Over the past 12 months, the stock has gained 314%.

The O’Hare deployment represents the latest expansion of BigBear.ai’s infrastructure security footprint. The company continues adding airport installations for its veriScan technology.
