SharpLink Gaming Ltd., SBET

SharpLink Gaming, Inc. announced a major move involving a $200 million ETH deployment on Ethereum Layer-2 network Linea. This strategic action positions the firm to unlock new yield opportunities across Ethereum’s expanding financial infrastructure.

SharpLink Commits $200M ETH to Linea for Treasury Optimization

SharpLink has allocated $200 million in ETH from its corporate treasury to Linea, a zkEVM Layer 2 blockchain supported by ConsenSys. The company aims to generate enhanced ETH-denominated returns through strategic yield mechanisms, including staking and restaking. With this deployment, SharpLink targets scalable and secure returns aligned with long-term treasury management goals.

The partnership combines Linea’s infrastructure with key ecosystem partners, such as ether.fi and EigenCloud, to diversify ETH-based rewards. SharpLink will leverage native staking yields, restaking rewards, and additional incentives to boost on-chain asset productivity. This integration is structured to operate under institutional safeguards and risk-managed processes over a period of several years.

Anchorage Digital will serve as the qualified custodian, ensuring regulatory and custodial compliance across all treasury operations. SharpLink emphasized institutional-grade oversight to maintain high fiduciary standards. This initiative supports the company’s broader strategy to enhance capital efficiency and shareholder value through Ethereum’s decentralized finance ecosystem.

Ethereum Treasury Strategy Supports Yield Growth and Protocol Innovation

Ethereum’s evolving infrastructure enables institutions to interact securely with on-chain assets using advanced staking and DeFi tools. SharpLink now joins early adopters looking to extract value through structured ETH deployments using Layer-2 scalability. Linea’s compliant ecosystem facilitates efficient operations with reduced gas fees and faster settlements.

This move marks a new phase in SharpLink’s Ethereum strategy, using programmable capital tools to drive on-chain performance. The firm’s emphasis remains on risk-adjusted yield while supporting Ethereum’s broader capital market evolution. Their collaboration with Consensys reflects confidence in Ethereum’s leadership across programmable finance and tokenized asset systems.

SharpLink bridges the gap between legacy finance and emerging digital ecosystems. Linea’s alignment with Ethereum standards allows institutional workflows to scale without compromising security or neutrality. This model may soon attract similar public entities managing extensive ETH holdings under strict regulatory oversight.

SBET and ETH Show Modest Price Response to Treasury News

ETH also gained slightly, supported by general market strength and news-driven optimism. Market participants appear to be reacting to the firm’s forward-looking capital strategy, which involves blockchain infrastructure.

The modest stock price movement suggests market recognition of SharpLink’s evolving role in Ethereum treasury innovation. However, broader market trends and crypto volatility continue to influence short-term price actions across both traditional and digital asset classes. Despite the initial minor rise, long-term gains may depend on execution and yield outcomes.

SharpLink’s $200 million commitment underscores its intention to drive institutional adoption of decentralized staking and yield protocols. The company aims to increase the productivity of ETH while maintaining compliance. The move not only reinforces Ethereum’s position in institutional finance but may also drive broader market engagement.

On-chain ransom negotiations show ShibaSwap hacker won’t be low-balled

The post On-chain ransom negotiations show ShibaSwap hacker won’t be low-balled appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. On-chain messages between hacker and victim reveal a ransom standoff, with every demand etched permanently on the blockchain. Last Friday, $2.8 million worth of (mostly dog-themed) crypto tokens were stolen from ShibaSwap, a “next generation decentralized exchange” for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Among the loot were approximately 250 billion KNINE tokens, from liquid staking protocol K9 Finance. K9 wants them back, and is willing to pay the hacker a bounty. The tokens are ostensibly worth over $600,000 at current market prices. Though a simulated swap, through extremely thin liquidity, paints a rather different picture. The hack was flagged by security firms Peckshield and Tikkala Security and involved using a “flash” loan to buy up enough tokens to achieve “majority validator power.” Then, the hacker signed “a malicious state to drain assets from the bridge.” They subsequently split up most of the stolen assets between various addresses but the stash of KNINE tokens, though, clearly not worth swapping, remains in their primary address. Read more: Circle and Tether bug bounties aren’t enough says LlamaRisk ShibaSwap hack negotiations begin On Monday, an address labelled “k9dev.eth” reached out to their “Dear Shibarium Bridge Hacker” on-chain, offering a five-ether (ETH) “bounty to return stolen KNINE tokens.” Presumably, the K9 team is very keen to avoid the hacker swapping such a large quantity of KNINE which would likely send its price to near zero. The message also contains the address of a bounty contract to facilitate the exchange, piling on the pressure with the warning that the “bounty will start to decrease in seven days.” Not one to be low-balled, however, the hacker has responded, “I can’t accept five ETH.” They instead propose no less than 50 ETH (around $225,000), adding “let me know when you are willing to meet that price.” The full exchange…
