The fourth annual Plan ₿ Forum, a collaborative initiative between Tether and the City of Lugano, concluded with significant milestones in Bitcoin adoption and blockchain technology, according to tether.io. Held over October 24-25, 2025, the event attracted over 4,000 participants from 64 countries, marking a 38% increase in attendance from the previous year.

Record Attendance and Global Reach

The forum, which has become a pivotal platform for digital asset innovation, was livestreamed to over 800,000 viewers worldwide. Discussions extended beyond financial applications, covering decentralization’s impact on artificial intelligence, media, and neuroscience.

Symbolic Unveilings and Global Expansion

A notable highlight was the reinstallation of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue at Lugano’s Parco Ciani. Unveiled by Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, FundStrat co-founder Tom Lee, and Lugano’s Mayor Michele Foletti, the statue represents Bitcoin’s global influence, with replicas in El Salvador and Japan.

Innovations and Announcements

Rumble CEO Chris Pavloski announced Bitcoin tipping integration for the platform’s 51 million users, set for a global rollout by early December. This initiative follows Tether’s $775 million investment in Rumble, enhancing the synergy between decentralized finance and digital media.

Tether’s AI research division introduced QVAC Genesis I, the largest synthetic AI dataset to date, alongside a local AI application, QVAC Workbench. This development aims to decentralize computation by enabling users to run models on personal devices.

Expert Insights and Future Plans

The forum featured industry leaders like Blackrock Neurotech’s CEO Marcus Gerhardt, who discussed the intersection of Bitcoin’s financial autonomy with cognitive freedom technologies. Other speakers included former White House consultant Bo Hines and Cantor Fitzgerald’s Brandon Lutnick, emphasizing Bitcoin’s role in promoting economic inclusion.

Mayor Michele Foletti highlighted Lugano’s progress in integrating Bitcoin into daily life, with increasing local adoption in businesses and services. Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, echoed these sentiments, noting the city’s transformation into a model of Bitcoin adoption.

Upcoming Events

Following the forum’s success, Plan ₿ announced two upcoming events: the Plan ₿ Forum in El Salvador on January 30-31, 2026, focusing on Bitcoin’s impact in emerging markets, and the fifth annual forum in Lugano on October 23-24, 2026, continuing discussions on financial freedom and innovation.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…

Dogecoin ETF DOJE smashes day-one line with nearly $6M in first hour

REX-Osprey’s Dogecoin ETF, ticker DOJE, opened on Sept. 18 and logged about 5.8 million dollars in its first hour of trading, according to Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas as relayed by market coverage.
