The Ethereum price drop has sent shock-waves through the crypto world. With Ethereum dropping over 20% in just two days the panic is real and deep. Investors are scrambling, and risk appetite is shifting fast.In the middle of this chaos, payment-focused tokens are suddenly catching the spotlight, and the rumour mill is buzzing that tokens like XRP and the emerging star Remittix, might be the big winners.

XRP: The Payment Token Setup You Can’t Ignore

Despite the broader market rout, XRP has quietly held ground, showing that payment-token momentum may just be heating up. XRP’s price has recently carved out a support level at $2.27 while facing resistance near $2.44.

Analysts and veteran traders are calling it. If Ripple Labs captures even 10-14% of the massive global cross-border payments market, the upside for XRP is enormous. One model projects a price of $66.67 under that scenario. Early buyers are already up, and institutional interest is accelerating—with one fund reportedly gearing up to raise over $1 billion to hoard XRP.

For investors hunting the next big altcoin in 2025 or a low-gas fee crypto alternative with real utility, XRP stands at the crossroads: beaten down, but with a massive runway ahead.

Ethereum Price: Why the Slide Could Fuel Other Plays

Ethereum’s weakness is more than just a price drop—it may mark a turning point. ETH plunged from around $3,600 to near $3,100, breaking crucial support and showing signs that the bear trend may intensify.

What this means: capital may rotate out of legacy large-cap coins and into projects with clearer use-cases like payments or remittance rails. For investors seeking the top DeFi projects or a next cross-chain DeFi alternative, this shift is meaningful. If Ethereum continues to struggle as the “growth engine” of crypto, then payment tokens and fintech token use-cases become the new battleground.

Remittix (RTX): The Payment Disruptor You Should Be Watching

Remittix

Remittix is gaining heavy traction among investors looking for early stage crypto investment opportunities outside the crowded large-cap field. It positions itself as a payment-finance (PayFi) platform built to send crypto directly to bank accounts in 30+ countries.

With over $28 million raised in private funding, the project is attracting attention for its real-world utility and growth readiness.

In comparison to XRP, Remittix’s niche is sharper: direct crypto-to-fiat payments with bank rails, global fiat currency support, and a model that reflects the “undervalued crypto project” status many seek.

Why Remittix Is Gaining Traction

  • Global Reach: Send crypto directly to bank accounts in 30+ countries
  • Real-World Utility: Built for everyday payments and remittances
  • Security First: Audited and verified by top blockchain security firm
  • Wallet Coming Soon: Mobile-first experience with real-time FX conversion
  • Over $28 Million Raised: Strong funding signals demand and belief
  • Ultra-Low Costs: Positioned as a low gas fee crypto alternative for payments
  • Growing Community: Thousands of early adopters and incentive programs

With the payment token theme heating up, Remittix may not only benefit but stand out as the “next 100 x crypto” target many investors whisper about.

Don’t Miss the Shift from ETH to Payments

The Ethereum price plunge isn’t just bad news—it’s an opportunity. As ETH loses momentum, the crypto market may be redirecting focus toward assets that deliver payment utility, low friction, and cross-border movement. That puts payment tokens like XRP and projects like Remittix in sharp view.

If you’re hunting for the best crypto to buy now, this moment—when systemic risk is high and sentiment low—could offer a rare window. Miss it, and you may regret being out of position when payment-token adoption accelerates.

Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future

Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future

The post Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. “It’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress,” writes Pipes. Getty Images Washington is addicted to taxing success. Now, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is floating a plan to skim half the patent earnings from inventions developed at universities with federal funding. It’s being sold as a way to shore up programs like Social Security. In reality, it’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress. Yes, taxpayer dollars support early-stage research. But the real payoff comes later—in the jobs created, cures discovered, and industries launched when universities and private industry turn those discoveries into real products. By comparison, the sums at stake in patent licensing are trivial. Universities collectively earn only about $3.6 billion annually in patent income—less than the federal government spends on Social Security in a single day. Even confiscating half would barely register against a $6 trillion federal budget. And yet the damage from such a policy would be anything but trivial. The true return on taxpayer investment isn’t in licensing checks sent to Washington, but in the downstream economic activity that federally supported research unleashes. Thanks to the bipartisan Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, universities and private industry have powerful incentives to translate early-stage discoveries into real-world products. Before Bayh-Dole, the government hoarded patents from federally funded research, and fewer than 5% were ever licensed. Once universities could own and license their own inventions, innovation exploded. The result has been one of the best returns on investment in government history. Since 1996, university research has added nearly $2 trillion to U.S. industrial output, supported 6.5 million jobs, and launched more than 19,000 startups. Those companies pay…
