Rihanna is coming up on a decade since she last released an album. The pop icon has not delivered a full-length since January 2016, when her celebrated Anti arrived. Since then, she has slowed her musical output considerably, instead focusing her energy on everything from her billion-dollar cosmetics empire to raising a family. The superstar has shared a handful of tunes here and there, especially those tied to films, but fans are still hoping that one day she will give them another full-length – one which she has promised many times but never delivered.

In the meantime, Rihanna’s music continues to perform well, especially on streaming platforms, where for years now, followers have been focusing on her album Good Girl Gone Bad. That title, which features many of her most famous tracks, climbs across multiple Billboard rosters and earns the Grammy winner her first appearance on one list she has never seen before.

Good Girl Gone Bad Debuts on a Billboard Chart

Good Girl Gone Bad debuts on the Top Streaming Albums chart, Billboard’s list of the most successful projects of any length, genre, or language across streaming platforms in the United States, such as Spotify, Apple Music, and others. Rihanna’s early-career set kicks off its time at No. 49 – in second-to-last place – on the 50-spot ranking.

Why Does Rihanna Score Her First Hit on a Billboard Chart This Week?

Rihanna earns her first moment on the Top Streaming Albums tally this frame. The company introduced the list back in the fall of 2023, so it is only a little more than two years old at this point. There are many well-known figures, including Rihanna, who lag behind currently-active stars, as their biggest full-lengths preceded the debut of the roster. While millions across the country continue to listen to Rihanna, even amid a relative hiatus, none of her efforts had managed to rack up enough plays in a single tracking period to make a home on the tally until now.

Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad Lives Inside the Top 10

As the set debuts on the Top Streaming Albums tally, Good Girl Gone Bad is on the rise on three other lists. The multi-genre release improves to No. 6 on the Top R&B Albums ranking and No. 18 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Good Girl Gone Bad also rockets more than 20 spaces north on the Billboard 200, improving to No. 58.

“Breakin’ Dishes,” “Don’t Stop the Music” and “Disturbia”

Good Girl Gone Bad benefits from continued consumption of a number of songs featured on its tracklist. Of the singer’s four tracks that appear on any Billboard tally at the moment, three are featured on Good Girl Gone Bad.

“Breakin’ Dishes” lives on several lists, including the Hot 100, dipping to No. 96. “Don’t Stop the Music” can regularly be found on the Dance/Streaming Songs ranking – as is the case currently – while “Disturbia,” which grows in popularity every Halloween season, returns to the top 10 on that genre-specific tally, improving from No. 15 to No. 9. All the streams attached to those cuts, as well as a number of others, help not only the individual tunes, but also the full-length on which they are featured.

Good Girl Gone Bad Reaches a Major Chart Milestone

As it climbs, Good Girl Gone Bad also reaches a special milestone on the Billboard 200. Rihanna’s third full-length has now spent 208 weeks, or exactly four years, on the chart since it arrived and peaked at No. 2 in the summer of 2007.

Good Girl Gone Bad marks Rihanna’s second project to make it to that impressive figure, as Anti passed that total long ago. In less than a month, that former champion – her only multi-week No. 1 – will become Rihanna’s first to crack 500 frames on the list.
