Porsche has unveiled its 2026 Cayenne Electric SUV lineup, comprising two fully electric models: the standard Cayenne Electric and the high-performance Cayenne Turbo Electric.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric is the most powerful Porsche vehicle to date, boasting 1,156 PS (1,139 hp). The car is also integrated with a short-term boost of 176 PS available for 10 seconds under the Push to Pass function. The vehicle boasts a torque of up to 1,500 Nm, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 km/h.

According to Porsche’s press release, the standard Cayenne Electric delivers up to 408 PS under normal conditions and can rise to 442 PS with Launch Control. The standard model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h within 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230 km/h. Both SUVs feature all-wheel-drive systems and torque vectoring. Porsche emphasized that both vehicles have traction and handling stability under varying conditions.

The German vehicle manufacturer has integrated both vehicles with a 133kWh lithium-ion battery, which supports an 800-volt architecture enabling high-speed DC charging. According to the manufacturer, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% capacity within 16 minutes using a 400 kW charger. The battery features an optional wireless charging capability, enabling home charging without the need for physical plugs. The estimated WLTP range for the standard Cayenne Electric is 642 km and 623km for the Turbo Electric per charge.

Both vehicles feature a recuperation system capability, which allows for up to a 97% conversion rate of braking energy into usable power, improving their efficiency and reducing brake wear.  The firm revealed that the vehicles’ chassis and suspension systems have been upgraded to support electric power and weight.

According to Porsche, the Turbo Electric features active suspension, rear-axle steering, and torque vectoring differentials that enhance stability and handling. The standard Cayenne Electric, on the other hand, features active suspension options and an adjustable air-ride system.

The interior view of the EV SUV has been redesigned, now featuring a 14.25-inch curved OLED display that replaces the original instrument clusters. The display offers a single interface that combines vehicle information, navigation, and media controls.

Cayenne EV SUV to compete directly with Tesla Model X

The cargo capacity of the EV SUVs ranges from 781 liters to 1,588 liters, depending on the seat configuration. The SUVs have also been rated to tow a maximum of 3.5 tonnes, which is similar to other large SUVs in the manufacturer’s lineup.

The manufacturer revealed that the EV’s energy consumption ranges between 19.7 and 21.8 kWh/100 km for the standard model and between 20.4 and 22.3 kWh/100 km for the Turbo Electric model. The vehicle has been tested under real-world conditions, including highway runs exceeding 350 miles on a single charge. The manufacturer confirmed that tests have shown the car to be suitable for both long-distance travel and daily use.

According to Oliver Blume, Porsche CEO, the fully electric SUVs represent a technological milestone for the brand and a critical step in the firm’s strategy to expand EV offerings across all vehicle segments. The Cayenne Turbo Electric is expected to compete in the high-performance EV SUVs, directly competing with the Tesla Model X and the upcoming Mercedes EQS SUV.

So far, pricing and delivery schedules have not been confirmed, but the firm has indicated that production will begin in 2026, with availability in Europe, North America, and Asia. The firm’s latest release aligns with its vision to introduce fully electric models by 2030, alongside other upcoming models, such as the Taycan Cross Turismo and Macan Electric.

PayPal USD Goes Live on Stellar, Expanding Access to Stablecoin Payments

PayPal USD (PYUSD), the fully regulated U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, is now live on the Stellar network, announced on Thursday. The launch marks a milestone for both PayPal and Stellar, extending PYUSD’s reach into new wallets, platforms, and business use cases across global payments. The announcement was made at the Stellar Meridian event in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, on September 18, a flagship annual gathering of blockchain leaders, investors, and policymakers. Expanding Access Through Stellar’s Ecosystem By deploying on Stellar, PYUSD integrates with wallets and platforms including Bitcoin.com, Chipper Cash, Decaf, Arculus, Meru, CiNKO, COCA, Lobstr, and others. This expansion alllows millions of users to access a stablecoin option designed for low-cost payments. “Expanding PYUSD to the Stellar network is an exciting step toward making stable, trusted digital dollars more accessible and useful worldwide,” said Corbin Fraser, CEO of Bitcoin.com. “By supporting PYUSD on Stellar, we’re enabling our millions of users to enjoy fast, low-cost transfers while strengthening the role of stablecoins in real-world payments.” Empowering Businesses and SMEs Beyond consumer payments, PYUSD on Stellar offers small and medium-sized businesses access to near-instant settlement and real-time working capital. Companies can use PYUSD to pay suppliers, manage inventory, or cover operational costs without the delays typically associated with traditional finance. According to Paypal liquidity providers can participate by backing these financing opportunities and earning potential returns linked to real-world commerce. This creates a virtuous cycle of faster payments, improved liquidity, and enhanced financial inclusion, explains PayPal. PYUSD’s fully backed reserves—held in U.S. dollar deposits, U.S. Treasuries, and similar cash equivalents—add trust and transparency. Oversight from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) ensures a high regulatory standard. PayPal Deepens Onchain Presence “PayPal continues to be at the forefront of payments, meeting our customers where they are — online, offline, and now onchain,” said May Zabaneh, Vice President of Crypto at PayPal. “Expanding PYUSD to Stellar broadens access to PYUSD and opens up new use cases and opportunities for seamless transactions for customers.” With this move, PayPal strengthens its role in the stablecoin ecosystem, offering consumers and enterprises a digital currency that bridges traditional finance with blockchain-powered efficiency. Stellar’s Growing Role in Digital Payments Stellar, which has processed over 20 billion operations across nearly 10 million accounts, provides a proven network for innovation in payments. Developers can integrate PYUSD into programmable payment solutions and enterprise-grade platforms using Stellar’s open-source SDKs and Soroban smart contracts. “Having a global leader like PayPal bring PYUSD to the Stellar network is a major step forward in how stablecoins can power real-world payments,” said Denelle Dixon, CEO of the Stellar Development Foundation. “This milestone sets the stage for broader adoption and innovation.”
