ForbesWill There Be A ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4? Here’s The Good News

Tulsa King Season 3, Episode 10 — titled Jesus Lizard — picks up directly after the events Episode 9, where Dwight’s sister Joanne (Annabella Sciorra) is taken hostage by Jeremiah Dunmire’s cronies.

After Dwight notices Joann is missing, he desperately begins searching for her when he gets a call for Jeremiah, who gives Dwight a choice to choose “blood or bourbon.” In response, Dwight begins to assemble a crew at Mitch’s Bred-2-Buck Cabaret & Casino and informs them that they are going to war.

When alone with Jeremiah’s son, Cole (Beau Knapp), Joanne asks Cole — who is friendly to Dwight’s cause — how he can get her out of the hostage situation. Cole tells Joanne that it would be difficult to get past the armed guards at the house and says it would be simpler for her to just sign over the rights to the distillery to his father.

Meanwhile, Dwight’s ally, Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Samuel L. Jackson), comes to the Bred-2-Buck and assures his friend that Joanne will be rescued. In the meantime, Cole turns up at Bodhi’s (Martin Starr) marijuana dispensary and tells him that he wants to talk to Dwight because he knows where Joanne is being held. In the meantime, Dwight’s hulking bodyguard, Bigfoot (Mike “Cashflo” Walden), recruits his three of his cousins to help in the battle — and Bigfoot is small in comparison.

While Dwight is sitting with his crew are coming up with a plan to rescue Joanne, Spencer (Scarlet Rose Stallone) shows up with Cole. After a few intense moments and the assurance that he’s done following his father around, Cole draws up a map of his father’s house, where Joanne is being held hostage.

Also, during the episode, Margaret (Dana Delaney) is still working on political plans with Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough), who is poised to take power as Oklahoma governor.

Meanwhile, Dwight and his army descend upon Dunmire’s compound, weapons in hand while Jeremiah sits quietly with Joanne in the house with a document for her to sign over the distillery. Once Dwight and his men arrive, they set off a series of explosives and mow down Jeremiah’s men with gunfire as they flood the liquor baron’s house with teargas.

After Jeremiah flees the house, Dwight rescues Joanne while Lee picks off more bad guys. Dwight isn’t through, though, as he goes after Jeremiah and knocks him out. After that, Dwight ties up Jeremiah and exacts revenge for Theo Montague — who died in his burning mansion — by setting Jeremiah ablaze.

Back at the Bred-2-Buck club, Dwight and his family and crew are celebrating and Lee bids everybody farewell and thanks them for “raising a special kid of hell” together. Lee then tells him of his plans of setting up an operation similar to Dwight’s in New Orleans and invites his new associates to “holler” if they are ever in the area.

As Lee is leaving, Agent Musso (Kevin Pollak) shows up and hands Dwight a federal permit from the Alcohol Tax and Trade Bureau to sell alcohol. Musso asks where the body of his elusive nemesis Dexter Deacon (Dallas Roberts) is, and Dwight asks him, “Does it matter?” After that, Dwight assures Musso that no one will ever find Dexter’s body. Musso tells Dwight that if he ever needs him, he will call.

As the episode wraps up, Mitch takes the stage and starts playing a tune while Dwight, with his arm around Margaret, raises a glass of bourbon and toasts his friend and business associate.

There Are Plenty Of Loose Ends That Need To Be Tied Up In ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4

While Tulsa King Season 3 doesn’t end up with a cliffhanger like Seasons 1 and 2 did, there’s no need for fans to worry about the future of the Sylvester Stallone show because it already has been renewed for a fourth season by Paramount+.

The ending of Tulsa King Season 3 isn’t neat and tidy, though, because it’s unknown what Thresher will do while he’s in power, even though he’s in Dwight’s pocket. Also unknown is the fate of Kansas City mobster and Dwight’s uneasy ally Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo), who was apprehended and held in custody by Musso earlier in the season.

In addition, Cleo Montague, who only showed up once in the latter half of seems to have disappeared again, which seems odd considering she was the catalyst of this season’s events when she went to Mitch with her Dunmire problem.

On top of that, Quiet Ray Renzetti still has a hit out on Dwight and Lee, even though the duo took out of the first set of hitmen looking to hunt them down in Episode 9.

Essentially, there are plenty of storylines that still need to play out in both Tulsa King Season 4, as well as Jackson’s upcoming spinoff series NOLA King, which is sure to feature Stallone at some point.

All episodes from the first three seasons of Tulsa King, created by Taylor Sheridan, are streaming on Paramount+.
