The New York Mets won’t be sitting on their hands after a disappointing season without a playoff berth.

The team is clearly looking to return next year with a revamped roster after it agreed to exchange long-time outfielder Brandon Nimmo for the Texas Rangers’ three-time infielder Marcus Semien. But the biggest move for the Mets this winter could be one that keeps a familiar face in Queens.

Homegrown Mets slugger Pete Alonso agreed to return to the team after a prolonged free agency last winter and proceeded to produce one of his best seasons to date. Now he has elected to return to free agency and the team will have to offer him a long-term contract if they want him to return.

It’s clear that many Mets fans want Alonso to return, particularly after he became the franchise’s all-time home runs leader this past season. And now a veteran teammate has made his feelings clear with a three-word message on Alonso’s upcoming free agency decision.

“He’s the man,” Mets pitcher Sean Manaea said, when asked how important it is that Alonso is his teammate again next year, per SNY.

“I love Pete to death,” Manaea added. “Ultimately, I just want whatever’s going to be best for him and his family. So, whatever happens, happens and hopefully he’s back with us.”

However, there’s reason for Manaea and Mets fans to be concerned that the team won’t be inclined to bring the long-time first baseman back into the fold. After a disappointing year, the Mets seem to be more focused on bolstering the rotation and defense this winter and that could mean turning to a cheaper option to replace Alonso at first.

“But the Mets’ top offseason priority is pitching — in the rotation and bullpen — and they have internal options for first base and DH in the short and long term,” Jorge Castillo wrote for ESPN. “Mark Vientos, Brett Baty and Jeff McNeil could play first base. Juan Soto, after a poor defensive year in right field, will eventually see time at DH.”

Alonso’s defensive role isn’t too challenging for the Mets to replace if they decide to allocate their payroll elsewhere. But his offense won’t be as easy to replicate, as he led the team in RBI and batting average this past season. And the sentimental value he has earned from the fanbase is a significant factor as well.

The Mets could go either way with Alonso, but Manaea isn’t the only person in Queens who would call him “the man.”

The post Headwind Helps Best Wallet Token appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Google has announced the launch of a new open-source protocol called Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) in partnership with Coinbase, the Ethereum Foundation, and 60 other organizations. This allows AI agents to make payments on behalf of users using various methods such as real-time bank transfers, credit and debit cards, and, most importantly, stablecoins. Let’s explore in detail what this could mean for the broader cryptocurrency markets, and also highlight a presale crypto (Best Wallet Token) that could explode as a result of this development. Google’s Push for Stablecoins Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) uses digital contracts known as ‘Intent Mandates’ and ‘Verifiable Credentials’ to ensure that AI agents undertake only those payments authorized by the user. Mandates, by the way, are cryptographically signed, tamper-proof digital contracts that act as verifiable proof of a user’s instruction. For example, let’s say you instruct an AI agent to never spend more than $200 in a single transaction. This instruction is written into an Intent Mandate, which serves as a digital contract. Now, whenever the AI agent tries to make a payment, it must present this mandate as proof of authorization, which will then be verified via the AP2 protocol. Alongside this, Google has also launched the A2A x402 extension to accelerate support for the Web3 ecosystem. This production-ready solution enables agent-based crypto payments and will help reshape the growth of cryptocurrency integration within the AP2 protocol. Google’s inclusion of stablecoins in AP2 is a massive vote of confidence in dollar-pegged cryptocurrencies and a huge step toward making them a mainstream payment option. This widens stablecoin usage beyond trading and speculation, positioning them at the center of the consumption economy. The recent enactment of the GENIUS Act in the U.S. gives stablecoins more structure and legal support. Imagine paying for things like data crawls, per-task…
